Hi - I decided to start posting after registering months ago. I would love to lose the stone I've gained over the past year but want to do it sensibly so that I can maintain the loss in future. I am in my 50's, two children and work part time in a call centre and this doesn't help with weight loss! However, I love my Fitbit and this motivates me to doing at least 10,000 steps a day. I love to bike when I can, though after years of biking all weathers I have now turned into a fair weather biker :-) at the moment I bike about 30-40miles a week, I try to go to the gym 2-3 times a week - I like to be active but the weight just sticks because I like my food too - I'm Taurus what can I say haha Anyway I'm giving it a real go and will be posting my weight Mondays and shall be looking round the site for any other motivational ideas so good luck everybody else and as I say...Let's sort this !!!

Hi Lessofme,

I know you've already joined the Monday group weigh-in, but I just wanted to reply to your very positive post here, and say 'Welcome' to the Weight Loss NHS forum! Glad you're looking round the site for motivational ideas, there's a lot of great posts - the Pinned posts area has many Challenges etc, plus the Welcome Newbie post as well.

Enjoy your week!

Lowcal :-)

I'm new too! It sounds like you are really good with your exercise so that's definitely in your favour. Good luck, hope you see some progress :)

Thanks - you too. I've always liked to stay active. I've just downloaded the Couch to 5k , I've never been a runner but I thought I'd give it a go

Hello Lessofme 😊 Just want to say hello and welcome 😊 You have some good links there from lowcal so have a read 😊 Slow and steady is the way to go, as a fellow Taurean I definitely don't do hunger or deprivation!!

Good luck

Thank you, you're right, there is lots of info on the site. I also started my first Couch to 5k podcast last night which went better than I thought so on now to day 2! ( Sorry but my replies don't include your username - I can't work out how to tag people names in blue? )

If you type "@" then a name, a drop down list will appear below the 'submit reply' button, just select the correct name and it will tag them 😊

Good luck with your journey 😊 The best advice I had was don't be tempted to reduce calories too low, eat as much as you can and still lose 😊

Not what you're looking for?
