Hi Kim,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. Have you read our Welcome Newbie post? It's worth a look and is in the Pinned posts area. I hope you'll join in with anything you like the look of in the forum. It's a friendly and supportive place.

I notice that you're keen to look at tackling your portion sizes, and you could try the NHS 12 week plan, but in the meantime, maybe have a look at this helpful thread which Caz28 has done, which is in the 'Useful Resources' Topic area - but this is a link - there's a useful article there by the NHS about portion sizes, that you might find helpful:

Welcome - you really have come to the right place. I think being honest with yourself (and us!) is the key to success. Keep talking!

That was always my biggest problem when I started in April. I did just what you have suggested and worked on one thing at a time. First week all of the naughties were thrown out (chocs, biscuits, cakes etc) and I made a start by halving the amount of everything that went on my plate except veg. When I was used to eating less, I focussed on improving my diet in other ways and counting calories properly along with exercise. You do get used to it after a while and, nearly six months on and 3 stone lighter, I am still here! Good luck Kim x

Hi freyahodkin and welcome to this community :-) I had a very long way to go on my journey when I first began and it can seem quite daunting when you have a long way to go, but it is all worth it. To live the life you once lived Again is the best feeling in the world. Believe me when I say that every single day you stick to the changes you make today Will make all the difference in your future.

Never forget that You are worth it and that you can do it!!!

Believe in yourself and that anything is possible:-)

Good luck on your journey and best wishes to you hun x
