Sure that we can all support each other on here and save the ££££ we would spend on clubs to some nice non food treats x

Good luck with website - I've heard it's great for all kinds of support and ideas - something new for each week and you are in control!

My doc recommended Paleo diet - basically same as NHS - lean meat (I don't eat meat but hey...!) fish (I eat lots of fish), fruit and veg. BUT NO rice of any kind, no pasta, no white flour products or grains - just the 'hunter-gatherer' food. Doc says metabolism is unable to cope with progress in food productions, hasn't evolved as quickly as food productions has. So, here goes, Paleo food for me for 30 days to see what happens to my BMI, BP and cholesterol.

Isn't it great that there is all that sensible help and support out there!

Good Luck, its funny how medical opinion changes, what you choose has to work as a lifestyle change x

Thank you, Mummymelling, and you will LOVE the Hairy Biker's Lose Weight Cookbook and recipes. My daughter bought one and is working her way through - she says food is delicious (she made one fish recipe for her Dad and me when we visited and it was gorgeous) and she is waiting to see if it works alongside her dogwalking exercise.

Here's hoping for great things for both of you.

My first day over. Made the 1400 calories. No yoga today, hope to start again next week. I have fab apply on my mobile hundreds of food options and store choices, Tesco, Sainsbury's and it works out the exact calories. It's just called Calorie Counter!

This just has to work. Weight Watches just didn't work. I have tried so many diets. I need to loose 2 stone!!

I can't do it alone!

You're not alone, Janelily! There's a whole load of us out there with you!

Weight Watchers didn't work for me either - I felt as if I wasn't making enough effort as it took me over 2 years to shed 2&1/2 st. Then I put 1st. back on and am trying to lose this 1st. Doesn't look good when one is a 'wrinkly', a 'titch' at 5ft 0" and weighing in at 10st.5lbs. So, cup half full and you will do this!

Haha I'm a shorty too at 5ft 2', and ten and a half stone would be a miracle for me, I'm a whole extra person heavier than that x

Just take it one day at a time, you will get there x

So I'm at the end of week one on 1400 calories or less! I managed it all week and I have lost two pounds! With the medication I am on that's a huge win for me as I put on four pounds in two weeks of starting it. Hopefully things will keep going well as I need to lose 32 pounds.

Well done that is brilliant Chemgirl, hope it motivates you to stay positive for another week x
