After trying every diet going most of my adult life, I am now trying to lose weight sensibly and just found this fab website to help x
First day of the 1400 challenge! - Weight Loss Support
First day of the 1400 challenge!
just joined and have dieted all my life. fed up with paying for Weight Watchers. Friend recommended couch to 5K so came on site to find out more but also need to lose stone and a half. just filled up on chocolate and ice cream as day one is tomorrow. silly I know!! good luck to you for first week
Think I may look at the couch to 5k after I have lost a few stones, hopefully will be joining the gym when I finish UNI in a few weeks x
Day one of new healthier me! I am going to make it!
Just printed off the PDF and put it in a folder I'm using my fitness pal app to help too with calorie tracking etc x also bought the hairy dieters book too x
Good luck with website - I've heard it's great for all kinds of support and ideas - something new for each week and you are in control!
My doc recommended Paleo diet - basically same as NHS - lean meat (I don't eat meat but hey...!) fish (I eat lots of fish), fruit and veg. BUT NO rice of any kind, no pasta, no white flour products or grains - just the 'hunter-gatherer' food. Doc says metabolism is unable to cope with progress in food productions, hasn't evolved as quickly as food productions has. So, here goes, Paleo food for me for 30 days to see what happens to my BMI, BP and cholesterol.
Isn't it great that there is all that sensible help and support out there!
Good Luck, its funny how medical opinion changes, what you choose has to work as a lifestyle change x
Thank you, Mummymelling, and you will LOVE the Hairy Biker's Lose Weight Cookbook and recipes. My daughter bought one and is working her way through - she says food is delicious (she made one fish recipe for her Dad and me when we visited and it was gorgeous) and she is waiting to see if it works alongside her dogwalking exercise.
Here's hoping for great things for both of you.
We had the low fat Korma yesterday, it was really tasty, Im looking forward to being more organised and menu planning will help this as will shoppling on line etc, just qualified as a nurse (mature studen) and 3 yrs at uni and stress eating has left me 5 stone heavier...
My first day over. Made the 1400 calories. No yoga today, hope to start again next week. I have fab apply on my mobile hundreds of food options and store choices, Tesco, Sainsbury's and it works out the exact calories. It's just called Calorie Counter!
This just has to work. Weight Watches just didn't work. I have tried so many diets. I need to loose 2 stone!!
I can't do it alone!
You're not alone, Janelily! There's a whole load of us out there with you!
Weight Watchers didn't work for me either - I felt as if I wasn't making enough effort as it took me over 2 years to shed 2&1/2 st. Then I put 1st. back on and am trying to lose this 1st. Doesn't look good when one is a 'wrinkly', a 'titch' at 5ft 0" and weighing in at 10st.5lbs. So, cup half full and you will do this!
Just take it one day at a time, you will get there x
So I'm at the end of week one on 1400 calories or less! I managed it all week and I have lost two pounds! With the medication I am on that's a huge win for me as I put on four pounds in two weeks of starting it. Hopefully things will keep going well as I need to lose 32 pounds.
