BMI shock

Recently moved house and had appt with nurse at new surgery. BMI is now over 40. Not happy at all :-(

Need to lose so much its daunting! But artritis in knee and bad back make me to do something to feel better.

Anyone else starting out and feeling like its too much to cope with. Am just recovering from a house move too. Ugh!

Hi and welcome Niputaidea :)

Many of us have started out feeling just the way that you do now, myself included! I was morbidly obese and needed to lose 9st to just get myself to the top of my healthy weight range. It seemed a daunting and impossible task! However, that was almost a year ago and I've now got less that 3st to lose to reach my goal :) If I can do it, so can you :)

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.

Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the monday group weigh-in. If you follow Zest , you'll be notified when she posts the thread. However, the latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration :)

Wishing you all the very best :)

You've started by posting here. I have had great reward from my fitness pal (a free app/programne) that means I have a nice little graph of my weight loss. All best

Small steps Hidden 😊 Small goals 😊 Just half a stone and your joints will feel easier 😊

Check out the links moreless suggested, work out your calories and off you go 😊 Get creative in the kitchen.

A calorie deficit of 500 a day is about a pound a week, so if you eat a little less and walk just a few minutes you are there 😊😊

Good luck!

Thank you all. Going to join the weekly weigh ins to help track progress and wil get the my fitness app going again!

That is a lot to take on. A house move, new surgery and weight loss. Set a mini goal, a stone, and this forum will get you there. Xxx
