Hi and welcome Shazzy36
I don't think it's really possible to target specific area for fat loss, but it is possible to do exercises to tone those areas. Have a look at these

Have a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen, (bottom if you're on a mobile) and read our Welcome Newbie post. It has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a great place to start. It doesn't give a specific diet plan, but gives guidelines for healthy eating.
Consider signing up for any, or all of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.
We also have a monday group weigh-in and if you click follow on my profile, you'll get a notification when I post it on monday. You can have a look at the latest thread in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Wishing you all the very best
The one thing I have found that helps me this time is regular exercise but to make it varied...so I go swimming some days, the gym on others, I have joined a couple of fitness classes and I walk a bit too. I sometimes attempt running but I'm just not 'feeling it' with running yet. I find that by working all aspects of my body and not focusing on just my belly that the weight has melted off my tummy this time round. I guess my body doesn't feel it's getting all the work in one part and wants to be fairer in where it takes the fat. Previously I only really focused on my belly and exercises I thought would 'target' that area but I have learned that doesn't work (for me at least, anyway!)

I agree with Hidden π Sensible eating and a good varied exercise routine is the way to go π 12 weeks is enough time to make a significant difference π Good luck!
12 months... that's decent time to make a plan... clean diet, regular exercise will help... plus I would suggest lemon and honey in warm water daily... it will keep you fresh and also boost your metabolism
Thank you everyone I really appreciate your lot reply it's keeping me motivated. I am gonna try giving it a go!!!. Let's see I will keep you updated. Someone has recommended apple cider vinegar?? Has anyone tried that???
Hi Shazzy36 and welcome to this very friendly forum you have definitely come to the right place for motivation and advice π
I was in the same situation as you. I have two boys 6 and 3 and struggled to loose my baby tummy. One of my main motivations to lose my 2stone target was being asked 'when was i due as i must only have about 2 months left'!!!
I lost a few inches in the first 12 wks (ive lost a total of 5inc in 25wks) so you can do it too π
I followed the nhs12wk plan and became very active on this forum which pushed me to achieve my goals x
I think switching from white bread, pasta, wraps etc to wholemeal definitely helped my tummy. Good diet will help and reducing sugar, fat and moving more will also help π
Drink plenty of water, watch your portion control and pick healthier snacks too.
I was advised quite early on not to focuss on one body part when exercising and found walking and a fitness dvd all i needed. π
Good luck and i look forward to seeing your progress.

Hi Shazzy36. If you stick within your calorie limit and try to exercise as much as possible you will see great results in 12 weeks. You sound like you have a very busy life with 3 small children. I know its hard when you have children as there are snacks and treats all around and the obvious problem of eating the food that they leave on their plates. I know I was definitely guilty of that one. But if you try to focus and count your calories for the 12 weeks then I am sure that the results you will see will spur you on to keep going to reach your goal. Best of luck
