Monday weigh-in a torture

hi.........was just wondering why does weigh in days have to be Mondays for challenges? (just asking :) )

don't know if its only me but I'm motivated to stay on track for the weekend when I see that I've lost on the Friday.

haha yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Maybe it's because people are more inclined to give in to temptation during the weekend so knowing there's a weigh in on Monday acts as a deterrent to over self-indulging in food? I don't know the actual reason.

I am going to a friend's birthday celebrations on Sunday. He's going to an 'Unlimited Pancake Breakfast, with ALL the trimmings' which I am not too sure about but it's his birthday treat and I don't want to be sat there not getting involved...however, it's the 'weigh-in' the next day and I am worried the scales won't show the hard work I'll have put in to the rest of the week. If there was a weigh in on Friday then I think I could get away with it haha but oh well... :)

True, the weekend is definitely a weak spot. Hope you enjoy Sunday. Xx

I tend to weigh on a Friday as well but for me I think of my weeks from a Friday to a Friday. But you are right it gives you that boost that stops you from splashing out on high calorie treats over the weekend. Especially as I do my weekly shopping on a weekend lol

Well, you could weigh-in on Fridays and just put that figure in on Mondays, if that is not too confusing for you! :)

That's a great idea, LTL, lily-loo - you could always weigh-in on Fridays and then just put the amount in on the Monday - if that works better for you.

Hope you are finding your way around the forum ok, just ask us if you need any help.

Brilliant, I hope that continues to work for you :)

I think that's what I'll do LessToLose, except I'll weigh myself on Sunday before going out to my friend's birthday celebrations and enter that in on Monday's weigh-in...that way is fairer I think. Then I'll resume back to Mondays afterwards. :) x

Hi Lily-loo,

Feel free to start a Friday weigh-in Challenge if that is your preference. There is no set day to it, it's just that I started this Monday group weigh-in about 3 years ago, as it was my preferred weigh-in day - as it helps me to keep as focused as I can be over the weekends, which are my personal challenges - I find weekends much tougher.

So please feel free to do a Friday weigh-in, if you want to - it's whatever motivates you best that counts. I work from Tuesday to Friday - so I don't have time to be here on the other days - and that's another reason why Mondays are the day I devote to the site.

Wishing you a great week Lily-loo, and weigh-in whenever you want - it's a great forum that invites all kind of possibilities. :-)

I like the Monday as it sets me up for the week and also seems to keep me focussed at the weekend!🐬

Zest i appreciate your time and effort in doing such a wonderful job and for such a long time. Well done to you!! Though I don't intend on doing a Friday weigh-in In challenge. Will just keep on adding my Friday weigh in on Mondays challenges.

Just thought there was a particular reason for Mondays. That's all.

Have a blessed week.....

It's good to ask the question Lily-loo - I certainly think that Monday's are challenging to weigh-in on, but I like the challenge personally. I think the great thing about the forum is that people can choose to do what works for them.

Wishing you a great week, and good luck with all your goals. :-)

I know without a doubt that a Friday weigh in would mean i would never lose weight. I have tried that before and I'm really good at eating on weekends, to the point of being able to easily put back on a week's weight loss. Knowing that I've worked hard from Monday to Friday and that I will have to weigh in on Monday helps me eat less on weekends (rice cakes instead of fresh bread etc) while trying to join in with the family meals. I hate Monday weigh-ins, but I'm also intensely grateful for them. Without them, I think I would never lose weight.
