I am the dreaded apple shape and while I am losing weight, it seems to be sticking to my abdomen like glue.
I daren't Google the best tips for apples or else be condemned to a life of continual pop ups about "loosing your belly fat".
I thought I would ask you bunch of lovelies who are real people and have actually tried and tested the various methods of losing abdominal fat for us apples.
Thanks guys

Hi, I'm an 'apple' too 😳 My belly fat has been really stubborn, but 15 weeks in I've lost over 4 inches of it so it does reduce eventually! I am limited to what exercise I can do but I've been doing 15, 30 and 45 minute cardio based on power walking and lots of brisk walking outside too and I think that is helping. If you are interested look at Leslie Sansone on you tube, not sure of your age/fitness level so don't know if it will be suitable, but as a guide I am 59 and was unfit when I started! I also drink lots of water as I think it helps to stop water retention and bloating. Good luck!
Thank you! I will take a look at that YouTuber that you suggest. I probably do need to increase my fluid intake as I mainly drink tea and coffee which I know does nothing for hydration.
Unfortunately, I don't think you can "target" fat at any specific location. You just have to lose weight and see where it come off! You can tone your muscles in specific areas and that might help with the inches, but it won't do anything to burn the fat in a specific area rather than another.
I am an apple too, but I didn't realize until I measured myself a couple of weeks ago.. I used to be fit and healthy (many years ago) and I guess physical exercise can help I guess... Not only running and walking, there are lots of specific exercise for ABS (yoga, sit ups, but even gardening or contracting and relaxing while doing other things can work...)
Thanks. I think the last time I didn't have a big abdomen was 2007! And I was very slim then. Every additional lb goes on my tummy. My arms and legs are already poker thin. My BMI is well within normal range but I know to get rid of my tummy fat my BMI unfortunately has to be very low end of normal. I suppose the world would be rubbish without apples though! I very much like your idea of contracting and relaxing my tummy muscles. I will do that. Thank you.
Yes, contracting and relaxing stomach muscles is good, I do that when I'm walking so that has probably helped too.
ME TOO! I have horrendous belly fat, it's so obvious and I cringe when I see myself in the mirror. What's worse is that when I have dieted in the past the belly fat is stubborn - EVERY SINGLE GOLLY GOSH TIME!!!! It's one of the main reasons I end up throwing in the towel BUT not this time! I think Caz is right, eventually it must shrink - it simply MUST! I shall keep that as my mantra!
So sorry but it IS wonderful to read this because it can be so easy to think it's only you that suffer from this and it's blooming brilliant to read that others are in the same boat. It just makes it easier somehow. That does not mean that I don't sympathize, in-fact I really do get where you're coming from with this. All I can provide is encouragement to keep up your good work, carry on eating healthy and it will eventually go away. At least it better, because I dream of a flat stomach and I need to know it's possible. You can do it. Good luck lovely! x
I have targeted my tummy with exercise, hip wiggles, bending, yoga etc and it does work, not totally but definitely helps. I guess these things take time 😕 Pilates also very good for core strength 😊 Good luck
When I gained several stone over my late 40's much of it was on my belly so I feel your pain. Surely what goes on must come off!!!!! Keep the faith and keep going I say! xx
