I like this doctor's nonjudgmental, positive and balanced concept of healthy eating. nytimes.com/2015/04/21/upsh...

Sneaked on here... interesting...we all follow my Nan's rule...

Moderation in all things :)

The only bit I would be a tad wary about is salt... We do not use salt at all, using herbs and spices for depth of flavour etc ...my Nan, however loved salt...on almost everything... she was 98 when she died..!

Good article 😊

A key phrase in my opinions was

" It’s far too easy these days to consume more than you think you are, or more than you really need . . . People have varying requirements, and it’s important for all of them to listen to their bodies to know when they should eat, and when they should stop."

That is a real skill and one I have spent the past year learning (trying to learn). Judging when Ive had enough to eat and then stopping. But I'm getting there!! Lol 😊

Thank you for the link 😊

This is how we try to eat (maybe not drink though!). Must admit it is much easier to do this when you grow lots of your own stuff and your hubby cooks almost everything from scratch.

I like his approach too. I try to cook more with fresh veggies now, even things like I used to always add tomato puree to things, now I just let fresh tomatoes slowly simmer, the flavour's so much better. I would say make every plate look good - bright colours and varied textures, especially make sure to include things that are fresh and crunchy. I also always try to buy a new veg or fruit when I go to the greengrocers, or something I at least haven't had for a long time. Last weekend I got rainbow chard - exciting! :)

Had to google rainbow chard - wow - beautiful - I have never encountered them in real life! Gotta try it!

Definitely try it! The stalks are quite sweet if you cook them slowly, and the leaves are quite a good texture, don't go mushy in the cooking. It's part of the same family of vegetables as beetroot, so lots of flavour :)

I'm attempting to grow it, looks pretty and tastes good 😊 It's a bit slow as we've not had great weather up here but I'm hopeful 😊

I'd love to grow it too! At a future point when I have my garden sorted. Hope the weather picks up and you get a tasty crop :)
