Just been on the phone to a good friend who I usually spend at least 1 hour chatting to so I though I would make good use of the time. I set up my pedometer and started stepping around the house. According to the pedometer I just managed to do 4000 steps and about 1.5 miles. My kids think I am bonkers but again according to the pedometer I just burned 140 cals so me thinks maybe I am not that mad!

Am I mad???
Hi Muffintop67,
Wow, what a great way to enjoy your phone call with your friend and burn some calories at the same time!!! Great!
Lowcal
Heh-heh, now that is a great bit of multi-tasking!
No not mad, that's smart-thinking x
Well I would usually just lounge on the sofa but thought I would be more active and it just shows you what you can do in a short time
Fidgeting , moving helps detract from food and inactivity, as long as we're focused on the conversation fine............I tend to cuddle/stroke cat , I find it very soothing and relaxing
Good tactic 😊 Must remember that one!
Genius !!!
I have spent hours on the computer and phone this week, even though I permanently flex and relax, move around, can't stay still even when sitting. It's not done the job of a good daft dance and a few spins 3 times a day. I am convinced that for me its the 2:1 ratio of short, sharp, pulse raising, then dropping that gets my fat shifting.
In the past I have lost weight very, very slowly, taken years at 1lbs a month, by very low cal and miles and miles on a treadmill, excessive cleaning at speed, just keeping moving all the time etc. This time is completely different
Lovely idea - I'm borrowing this one for when I am blethering on the phone to my friend in Preston who can talk the hind legs off a donkey! Thanks for the inspiration!
Nelliecat
excellent idea! Have you thought about an exercise bike? You could do miles
