Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS community forum. I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community - it's a friendly and supportive place. We have a Welcome Newbie post, which moreless has put together:
Many of us are following the NHS 12 week plan, and I would recommend it as a really good structure. I've been following the principles for a long time, i.e. years rather than months, and I think it's a sustainable plan for life (but that's just my personal opinion!).
We have a weekly weigh-in group called the Monday group, which is also mentioned in the Welcome Newbie post, so do have a look and see if it might be something you'd enjoy participating in.
Also, check out our Pinned Posts area, as there are lots of Challenges and also some Recipes posted there, in a collated thread.
I know you're planning to start your plan on Friday, so good luck with everything.
Its probably the dieting that has caused you to now be overweight really. Healthy lifestyle is what keeps it off but we are not very good at keeping a healthy lifestyle when we get upset or stressed or just really busy. Use the information on this site and keep in touch with others on here its really great at keeping you positive. Happy losing !
