I always start the day with porridge, it's nutritious full of fibre and keeps hunger pangs away till lunchtime. Linda
mornin Barbara, I have porridge during the week, I use the over-night method - take half cup oats, add half cup milk, put in container, I use an insulated cup (it is just the right size), leave in the fridge overnight, add half-cup blueberries in the morning. I take this into work as I don't like eating first thing. I add hot water in the office to stop it being too dry. for weekends I have eggs of some sort, omelette, scrambled with side of mushrooms. or Jamie Oliver recipe- oats/nuts/ dried fruit home-made cereal with banana and greek yogurt and blueberries. This is my favourite 😊.
Lunches vary but this week I made homemade soup - veg with garlic, ginger, chilli so it has a real kick.
For dinner I haven't changed too much from regular family dinners, just tried to replace simple carbs with more veg. I am not too inventive with salads so tend to use M&S salads. I also bought a set of portioned plates which remind me half my plate should be veg, quarter protein, quarter carbs. I use myfitnesspal to keep an eye on calorie intake.
I found Jamie Oliver superfood book to be really good for ideas. Most recipes use regular ingredients, not too complicated.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for the tips I will definitely look into this book from Jamie Oliver and where do I buy portion plate from 😀 And love porridge so will def try it with fruit xx
I can't seem to post link, I got plates from amazon corelle divided plates

Hi Barbara28,
Sorry to hear you've not been feeling very well for the last couple of weeks, and I'm glad to hear that you've woken up today feeling more positive. There's a post in the Pinned posts area which is called 'Recipes' and it has some good ideas there - so do take a look. The Pinned posts area is in the top right-hand-side of the homepage.
Have a great weekend.

I get fed up sometimes with porridge and scrambled eggs so I sometimes have a cooked breakfast as a change but watch my portions very carefully, poached eggs, grilled bacon a tablespoon of beans, half a tomato, handful of mushrooms and half a slice of toast. Finish with a piece of fruit and a nice coffee Should keep you going till lunchtime? John
