It's been nice to see that there have been so many new people, including myself, jointing the 'diet club' this week. That's certainly an incentive to carry on....
It appears that a number of people have 'jumped ship' from other clubs which happen to charge for the privilege of following their diet regime. I'm sure that there are quite a few people out there who have purchased the WW cookbooks which in the more recent years, don't include calorie content of the foods any more. There are a lot of recipes which I like to make, especially the soups, and would like to know how people have gone about converting the points to calories to enable them to track the foods as calories instead?
On a different note, is there somewhere on this site which enables you to record your weekly weight loss? If not, how do other people track their progress?
Thanking you in advance for your assistance, Elaine

I'd thought the same, but most ingredients on packets often refer to a serving, or 100g, which could prove to be fun and games if the recipe is asking for an odd amount. My maths is far from brilliant, but I think it's something I'm going to have to practice if I'm going to succeed.
Anna61,
You said that myfitnesspal can work out calories for me. Is this a website?
Hi Redx1995! I am calorie counting and I recommend My Fitness Pal too..it's great. It's an app. You can work on calories on everything & use barcodes to find things too. It recognises most used foods and You can build recipes. You can also log your fitness and weight loss. Good luck! 🍀
Welcome to the forum! I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community, and I'd like to give you a link to our Welcome Newbie post (put together by a lovely forum member called Moreless):
I saw your question later in this post about whether Myfitnesspal is a website - yes it is - it is a really good app for helping to record food and drink intake - many of us use it. I think it does list quite a few Weight Watcher products - so hopefully some of the recipes you're talking about might already be listed there?
If you'd like to join in our Monday group weigh-in sessions, then please have a look at the 'Events' section (right-hand-side of homepage) where the latest session thread is always situated.
But there will be a new post from just before 6.30am tomorrow, so if you are thinking of joining us, please wait for that one. We'll be around all day and also in the evening, so you could join us as and when it was convenient for you. No worries if you don't fancy that idea, as hopefully you'll find something in the forum that will interest you.
The great thing is to participate as and when you want to, and reading the posts can be really inspiring.
I have tried Weight Watchers, Slimming World, my local GP's slimming club ...all worked for a short while and then fizzled out. I have lost weight calorie counting on my own too, but it is tedious physically writing everything down and adding it all up.
So, I use the Nutracheck Calorie Diary - it is free for 7 days and then you pay for an app or an app and an online membership. I am told it is different to Myfitnesspal as it is UK based and recognises all the foods normally sold in our shop whereas the other is more US based? (Correct me if I am wrong). I have found it invaluable for a very easy way to track my calories on a meal by meal basis. I love all the graphs and recipes and the forum attached to it.
I hope you find something you can use easily to calculate your meals.
Just to say I've not noticed a US base to the data-base on Myfitnesspal, so hadn't realised that was the case. I always assumed it was UK based... I really don't know - just thought I'd make that comment.
It maybe that the Nutracheck people are a little biased! I haven't seen Myfitnesspal to compare - only going by what I have read on their forum. Funny thing was - it was the NHS 12 Week page that had a link to the Nutracheck site, and I signed up for that before I even knew about Myfitnesspal. Possibly could have saved myself some money but the weight is going so I shan't complain...
