personalised calories allowance ?

In many peoples posts I see they have a personalised calorie allowance which has been gotten through the nhs website. I can’t find this on their website at all 🤔. I find the BMI calculator but there’s no mention of calories on there and no link to anything else. And even when I google it nothing else comes up. Any suggestions anyone please for where I’ll find it? I’ve been using the generic 1400 calories but would like to know if this is right or not. Thanks in advance.

It's on the bmi page. You have to put in your details. When it calculates your bmi, it gives you a calorie range as well.

There may be a reason.

If you don’t mind sending me your current height and weight in a Message (unless you are happy to put these here) I will check it for you. 🙂

As MissisB has mentioned, if you're in the Healthy BMI range then it won't post one for you, otherwise it will appear at the end of the calculator.

If you are in the Healthy BMI range, you can trick it by gradually increasing the weight you enter until you are no longer 'healthy'. You can then adjust the cals it gives you down slightly to account for your weight loss but you won't need to adjust it by much.

Thankyou for that. I started above the healthy but am now just at the top of healthy so that might be why.

Do be sure it falls in line with the NHS one. I'd try out both and put in some higher fictitious numbers and see if they tally.

Many other calculators provide substantially lower cals which tend to cause long term issues with weight loss.
