A worrying week as my son was in hospital and although he's 42 he'll always be my 'baby' so I was naturally worried sick. Fortunately, all is well and he's out of hospital and fine. That was the cloud and here comes the silver lining. Before writing on this forum it would have been just the excuse for me to chuck the diet out of the window and head for the fish and chip shop as I couldn't be bothered to cook. I'm not one of these people who lose weight when they are worried - I comfort eat and end up putting weight on. Well not this time, although admittedly I didn't bother counting calories as I had other things to worry about. I just ate as I have done the past few weeks. I've just switched my diet weigh in from Monday to Sunday as it's easier for me so jumped on the scales this morning and have lost 2 lbs since last Monday! Really chuffed with myself that I didn't give in to the usual excuses. I know my next big test will be when I hit the inevitable brick wall and don't lose weight one week but I've proved I can get over one hurdle so hopefully I can get over that. Have lost 10lbs since New Year (6 of them in the past 3 weeks since joining the forum) and would like to lose another 1.1/2 stone. This forum has helped me so much with motivation, so thanks everyone and have a brilliant week.

Go Linda you have shown great strength and determination which has reflected on those scales this week and you lost 2 lbs well done
You now know you posses the strength to see you through a tough situation and you should take what you have learned in this situation and apply it to every situation no matter what it is and you will find that you can conker them all and so you should be chuffed to bits with you willpower. It's all about mind over matter and as long as you stay strong so will your mind.
