Going well so far .......... ish ! Quit sugar; withdrawal didn't last too many days and are now gone, thankfully...... 2 blips thanks to Mother Nature and being tired ( not a good pairing ) one jam sandwich and a pack of mini eggs , I was fine about it, after I'd given myself a talking to. I've compeletely changed my diet, fast for 1 day and have quit sugar, so I didn't kick myself too much over it....... Making an appointment with myself to review things on Monday , what's working, what I could do better, what isn't working ....... For me, complacency and boredom of the food I'm eating could see me peddling backward hence the review. Lost 6 lbs last week, tomm is weigh day again, but learning from lessons from the past, I am determined determined determined not to get hung up on the scales this time... I know if I stick with my healthier eating long term the weight will shift, so far so good but as ever , work in progress ....
How is everyone doing ???
Best wishes Trier x

Thank you very much ! With soooooo much to lose, I'm currently 17-2 I can't help but feel daunted sometimes, but the alternative is not one I want to visit, so Trierisme is keeping on trying ! Xxxx
Hiya Trier, I'm getting bored!! Arrh.... yep the food I'm eating is boring, I've been on a complete sugar fast to day as part of a pledge! It hasn't been too bad as I've been cutting most sugar out of my diet. I need to find more interesting foods to eat! My husband's been eating the same and he's not happy! Also been weighing myself too much. I'm not losing fast enough!! Sorry for whinging! Ha ha but you did ask! 😁
Yes I did ask! It's inspiring, interesting and comforting to know there are lots of people, facing the same issues as me...... How they cope, what works for them , what doesn't, I'm always ready to take up a suggestion or recipe if I think it may help..... Ahhhhh the boredom bit ......... Hmmmm...... I do understand...... if you've not had that great a relationship with food before, esting healthier can seem boring, after the novelty has worn off a bit, in my case after two weeks ! A chocolate bar or cocktail isn't boring is it ........ I think, and I'm challenging myself in this right now, is healthier food is not boring......... we just use that as an excuse.................................. DANGER TIME ! I'm going to re-do my menu plan, sit and really think about the foods I want to eat , re-jig things about, try different vegetables and fruits...... I'm more aware than ever that for a healthier diet things should be fluid, change, experiment...... Find a handful of new recipes and try them out........ That's what I'm planning on doing tommorrow anyway........ There are loads of recipes you can tweak to cut down on sugar or fat etc. Making time to plan could possibly be your best friend....... Chin up, we're heroes, we can do it ! Trier xxx
Hi Trier, I've just done the weekly shop and bought lots of different foods ie foods I've never tried before, fruit n veg I'd never even heard of! Should be interesting! So I'm gonna try to liven things up a bit! Sick of same old same old meals! Hopefully it'll get me back on track...... I've not had a good week, I haven't lost anything and I haven't cheated once! It's very disheartening, my niece says I'm not eating enough! But I've never been good at calorie counting, Anyway onward and downward! Yep we're heroes, good luck 😉😇😁 xx
You can do it! Set time aside to plan a menu ...... yeah it is prescriptive but you won't do it forever and ever, it's a really good way of getting it into your head of how good food can work & checking on your fruit and veg consumption............ I'll be thinking of you; let me know how you're getting on.... Trier x
Well done on the fantastic loss to date and the great, healthy steps! 2 blips does not a disaster make, just think what you would normally eat sugar wise in 1 day!! See? What a change!
I am facing this as you are, one healthy step at a time and hoping weight loss will be a happy side effect. It is so hard though not to focus on the scales and I need to constantly remind myself of this.
The weight is coming off (although much more slowly than yours!) and I know I have already formed some healthy habits that will last longer and do me better than any of the 'diets' I have tried before. (So am not drinking alcohol, eating sugar, am fasting 16hours daily and I now have a stable bedtime getting 8 hours a night.)
Will you keep us updated on your progress? Would love to hear how it is going.
I love your post - very positive and I hope your weigh-in goes well tomorrow. Great that you're also scheduling a review plan to look at what is working well and what you want to change - sounds very sensible.
I was thrilled last week as I got into the 12's at last - I've been trying to get there for a long time now, as I'm trying to lose my final few pounds. But I've been away on a city-break (London) over the past few days, so not sure what the scales will tell me on Monday, at the Monday group weigh-in. Oh well, I really enjoyed the break, so I don't regret anything. I did lots of walking to compensate for the meals out and extra indulgences here and there.
Wishing you a great weekend, and please do keep us updated on your progress, I agree with Asics, we'd love to hear how it's going for you. Wishing you success with everything.
O h well done !!! I hope you really enjoyed your break in London..... I agree with you about the scales, but please try not to focus on them, I'm practicing what I preach here, I've put on a 1lb this week, but I'm determined to keep it in my mind that while decreasing our weight is our goal, it really is only 1 factor, all be it an Important one...... Try focusing on your successes, how good your overall diet has become, how you may be fitter due to meow exercise...... Trying to keep an 'overall' perspective can help to prevent us going off the rails I think, I hope anyway as this is what I'm trying to do....... As always, work in progress !! And 100% applaud you for not regretting your London break, your living and enjoying!
