Have sabotaged my clean living routine the last two days by having one too many rich tea biscuits that were left in my classroom! Sigh, and I don't even LIKE rich tea biscuits - it was just for the sake of a taste of sugar.
To say i am dreading the weigh-in is an understatement....
8 rich tea biscuits over 2 days, I know it must feel like a huge sin but I don't think that will really break the bank.
Put it behind you as the others have said... start again right now. (Don't do my usual, carry on til weigh in because i have messed it up this week anyway! )
Take a moment to think about the stuff you have got right so far then focus on the next positive steps. 2 good days and those 8 biscuits will evaporate in importance.!
(I think your biggest problem will be if whoever left the biscuits comes back to claim them... eeeekk! 😆)
Rich Tea are fairly low in calories compared to many biscuits
But I do think biscuits are the work of the devil Once the packet is open it must be consumed! We have stopped buying sweet biscuits. Now only buy a pack of 4 cookies as an occasional treat.
I bought chocolate biscuits at xmas and blame them for my weigh gain over the holidays - very annoyed with myself !
Find a way to avoid biscuits and replace them with something that is portion controlled - individually wrapped, and then just have one.
Don't beat yourself up about it though - it is done so move on and use the experience to help you avoid slipping into the same situation again.
My biggest problem is learning to throw away food - try to give it away. 8 biscuits won't gain you much but it's what it does to the palate and your esteem. Hold you head up and be strong next week..
8 rich tea biscuits is nothing compared to my binge crazy days! I always used to stop logging once its has all gone pear shaped on a day (and if its a terribly bad day I still do!) but on two of my last bad days although I felt disgusting when I logged it it didnt seem too bad, cos Id eaten under my allowance a couple of days prior and then planned to eat a little less to make up for it and over the week I wasnt terribly over my calorie allowance - find your easier days and harder days and switch the calories over a bit - for me eating out and parties is a killer so I aim to be under in the week to keep me on track on the weekend. It doesnt always work perfectly there will still be weeks where I put on a pound or so but its better than putting on 5!
Sometimes that's how it goes, your only human. Trust me we all have blips. Once u have your weigh in. I'm sure u will bak on it and u won't bother about biscuits... Don't beat your self up too much, just get bak on track....
This is brilliant, I can totally relate to your predicament and would more than likely of done the same. But seriously, don't panic. In the grand scheme of things they add up-to around 280 calories so it's really not that many.
In the future though look to make clean eating not so much of a challenge. It may become more manageable if you get yourself a go to healthy snack. Maybe some dried fruits that have natural sugars and a bit of a bite to them. I find 1/4 cup of Apricots, Dates or raisins help
Think of it like this 8 biscuits is probably only 250 calories if you go for a fast 2.5 mile walk you will use it up speed up your metabolism and feel good because of the feel good hormones serotonin being released.
More important is how to deal with such a situation in the first place. I still have the quality street tub which I am slowly giving away, I love these, so it is hard as I don't think grand kids should have too many or they will end up like me so .... I give them 2 when they come in pm and 2 when they go to school for lunch time pity about the teeth!! There are still quite a few left!! come to conclusion everywhere there is temptation and bad stuff.
We need to think why we want to lose weight and for me it has to be so I can move more. I would like to look better to but that can lead to disappointment.!! Another point, in your classroom , you dont know whose they were and kids may have not been so hygienic, too late now though, I used to teach some lovely kids but some were had suspect hygiene. Hey its only 250 calories. x
What kind of colleague are you? Next time take them to the staff room. Then your colleagues will eat them, look fatter and make you look even better by comparison. Only joking, but if you have food you don't want to eat, give it away if you can't bin it.
Don't think a few T biscuits would have done that much harm sometimes you need a wee treat in life but to be honest you could have chocolate digestives now that's a different story 😀
