Resisting the 15 digestive biscuits so far...please help with my dilemma!

Hi,

Happy Sunday to you all.

I went to a friends party last night and was asked to bring a cheesecake which I duly did. I had to buy a packet of digestive biscuits to make the base. I was really really good at the party - lots of delicious breads, cheeses and dips. I had about 8 crisps, no dips, no bread and no deserts so I felt super pleased with myself!

The problem is that I have the remaining packet of digestive biscuits in my cupboard - 15 - I have counted them!! Agrahh! I have resisted so far, sipping a peppermint tea as I type but they know my name and are beseeching me to eat them!

Options;

1 I throw them into the bin.

2 I soak them in water and throw them into the bin.

3 I eat 2 of them with my peppermint tea.

4 I eat all 15 and start back on my weight loss program tomorrow.

5 I ignore their beseeching calls and get on with my pile of ironing.

If you have a moment to vote on my options I will go with whatever gets the highest number of votes!

Love and peace all x

In those cases, if I have a smidgen of self control left, I throw them out. Then, distract yourself. I relate to your dilemma though some wouldn’t. You would never be happy with a mere two.... In future, take the remaining biscuits or whatever with you to the party and give them to someone or put them on a plate for others. Good idea to ask for help tho!

It's a lovely day (probably,it is here).

Crumble them up and head to the nearest park, waterway etc and feed them to the birds. 🐦 It's not the healthiest for them, but they will enjoy them and exercise off the calories, and feeding the birds is a pleasure, so it won't feel like food waste.

Oh good one...this wasn’t an option on my list but it should have been x

Definitely go with subtlebadgers idea, otherwise throw them out.

Thanks to all.

Yes I still have 15 digestive biscuits in my cupboard. The birds are in for a treat tomorrow.

Didn’t get my ironing done though 🤣🤣

Eat them - then you can forget about them

Crumble them and feed them to the birds, right now! They really struggle in this cold weather and will be very grateful for the biscuits!

Hi Edge1234

I think you should chuck them in the bin.

Hello Edge1234.

My suggestion would be to put them out for the birds, either in your garden if you have one, or your local park 🦆

Give them to the food bank or a skinny friend

Oh a dilemma indeed! Can't throw them away- food waste is bad. Can't eat them- calories, calories. Suggest you post them through a neighbour's letterbox and pass the problem on...

Hard decision. I don’t throw food. How bout putting them in freezer?

Subtle_badger profile image

I don't thin they really are food. I mean, if you are at risk of starving to death, they will prevent it, but under any other circumstances eating them will shorten your life rather than extending them. The comparison to cigarettes is apt. Shout out to SkinnyBill Throwing out cigarettes would be a waste, but smoking them is no better use than throwing them out.

The exception is if Edge1234 is likely to be asked to make a cheesecake again. If so, I suggest they crush the biscuits so they aren't tempted to eat them, then freeze the crumbs for the next cheesecake.

Mmm, cheesecake 😊

This certainly is a better idea than mine 😄

Hi hope you fed them to the birds . Sue 🌸🌸🌸

Do it like stopping smoking. Chuck away what's left and remember the disgraceful waste and what it cost originally then you're not likely to be so profligate next time you buy biscuits.

If you only need a couple for the cheesecake, spend a night in a decent hotel and use the tea tray biscuits!

Look at the ingredients and see if you still fancy eating them. Nothing in there that will feed your soul. Then plan what you will have for dinner and how much better eating something healthy is going to feel!

Throw them in the bin. Nothing tastes better than a size 10/12/14/16 feels.

Or drown them in vinegar.

McVitties digestives (and presumably all the others) have saturated fat: they are good for birds!

Flour (54%) (Wheat Flour, Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Vegetable Oil (Palm), Wholemeal Wheat Flour (16%), Sugar, Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup, Raising Agents (Sodium Bicarbonate, Malic Acid, Ammonium Bicarbonate), Salt, Dried Skimmed Milk

PS Yum or maybe not? 🤨

Edit: Com' on, Edge1234 , what happened to the biscuits? I need to know!
