The story so far....

Hi all!

I have completed my first week and have managed reasonably well. I did find weighing foods and working out calories a bit tiresome but I'm getting used to doing it now so it's not so bad!

My first weeks weight loss was 0.5 kg; from 72.7 down to 72.2 and an inch off my waist line so pretty pleased with my self.

I was busy with work last week so my activity level was higher than normal and I think that helped.

I struggle with drinking more water as I find tap water on it's own so uninspiring! I do drink squash which doesn't have a high calorific value and I found I drink more if I drink through a straw!! Have tried some vegetable and fruit juices this week, home made so no added nasties and they are quite nice if you've got the time to make them!!

Anyway, a combination of less food and more activity seems to working but I constantly remind myself that changes need to be made slowly. Baby steps all the way because you can't change unhelpful habits overnight.

Hi Littlefish,

That's a great start - congratulations on losing 0.5 kg in your first week. Plus that inch off your waist line too - really great!

It takes time to change habits, like you say, and you're already on the road to doing just that - hope you have another great week ahead.

Have you tried an online calorie counter to take the effort out of the calorie counting? OK, so they are not free but there are some excellent apps out there, and I have saved the cost of the app on the food I am not eating!

So since September 2014, when I finally decided to take control of my health, I've lost 2 1/2...

Things are going good so far... Loving the different food.
