Can't quite believe I've just bought a spiralizer

But I have.... Read on here about the Lakeland one and went and bought it. Just like that! We've had a go, but the only carrot I could find was tiny so that didn't work. I did a sweet potato which came out very well. I will have to cook it and incorporate into my evening meal somehow! Teenage son was both delighted and furious that I had provided a distraction from his homework.

I'm using now to do ALL the salad for our fajitas tonight. Just for practice, no one else will notice. But I'm happy

Cabbage would be like grated cabbage, I suspect!

Probably :)

Yes, you definitely need to find some thick vegetables to use - the thin ones just snap !!

I call mine the spiritualiser 😁😁😂😂

I love my spiraliser! Courgetti is my fav but I'll have a crack at sweet potato. How would you cook it? I'm thinking steaming it???

I've just microwaved it with a splash of water. Tastes fine!

Can anyone tell me what the long needle-like spike, hidden under one of the components, is for?

in reply toknitsandcodes

Not sure - I've checked mine and can't see anything like that. What kind do you have ?

Silly me. I've just looked at the instructions, apparently it's a metal skewer! For solo spiral meals, I guess.

I have a spiralizer easy store, the latest model in Lakeland. An excuse for them to charge a fiver more. It's dishwasher proof, apparently.

Oooo starting to want one

for my teenage son last night I spiralised potatoes, drizzled with olive oil, sprinked with garlic salt, pepper, grated parmesan, and baked in the oven for 20 mins, served with ham, eggs, peas. he was very happy!

i simultaneously did the same for me and husband with squash - chilli oil, salt, pepper, roasted again for 20 mins, served with leftover lentil bolognese (lakeland website recipe). really really good.

Not what you're looking for?
