Thanks aqua i saw one on ebay for £140 i thought that wasn't too bad. I wish my mobility was better and i could go for long walks outside maybe when my weight goes down my mobility will improve, thats what I'm working towards xxx

I have a treadmill at home and I use it several times a week. I find it convenient and love it. Best money I've spent.

However, if you're not entirely convinced you'll use it, have a look at Gumtree for a secondhand one so your initial outlay is low.

Another suggestion is to rent a treadmill. Rent it for three months and see if you use it.

It may depend where you live in the UK but Google "treadmill for hire" and see what it says. There are certainly companies up and down the UK who hire them.

Rosie, walking on a treadmill is a good idea. I have arthritis and find walking really helps, but can't do it on a treadmill as I have vertigo and i'm likely to fall off lol! Yoga and pilates is excellent too as long as you listen to your body, and go with the flow you should be ok.

My saving grace was an ancient exercise bike. I started off really slowly and progressed to 100K's in a week. It doesn't affect my arthritis nearly as much as walking, because there's no weight bearing. It also did a marvellous job at reducing the swelling in my legs. I'm so pleased with how it's gone, that I'm getting a real bike tomorrow, with a stand to convert it into an exercise bike should the weather be too bad :)

The bike sounds great but i had one and the pain in my neck shoulder's back was horrific due to cervical spondylosis. But like you it helped my circulation especially my legs. If i could just find something to help me walk better that would be a plus 😁

Maybe you're better off hiring a treadmill as has been suggested. At least that way you won't have wasted a lot of money if it doesn't work out.
