Hello all, I hope you have all had/ are having a wonderful Christmas. My christmas has been both fabby and emotional in a good way. Tonight will be the start of 6 shifts this week for me, so it is back to earth with a bump. My choice to do 6 shifts on the bounce, as I have said I will work New Years Eve and Day ( nightshifts) for a colleague on the other team. This will hopefully make me too busy to 'think' much and become maudlin over this last years happenings. On the plus side I have weighed this morning and stayed the same, so all the festive foods I have enjoyed have stayed just that - enjoyable. My resolve to stay teetotal only failed for 1 tiny toast to my Mum on Boxing Day, and that was just 1 swig. Apart from the 1 mouthful I have stuck to sparkling water and tea ( gallons of tea!!). I am determined to make 2016 be the year that I can finally say I am where I want to be in mind, body and soul.
My decorations and Tree will be put away today as I like to start the New Year with a fresh house - tidied and cleaned throughout. Later I will be taking the dog for a long walk on what is looking to be a lovely ( dry for once!) day. Food ways - Porridge ( was lovely) for breakfast. Pork and apple patties for lunch with sauteed mushrooms, onion, leek and pak choi. Dinner is a veggie hotpot ( with dumplings for the kids), then I am taking a sandwich to work with me. I have lots of food that needs using - mountains of veggies, and not much freezer room, eek. Trying to ensure good choices with what is available and have decided not to food shop this next month apart from the obvious staples such as bread, milk, eggs as needed. I would like to start 2016 in as healthy way as possible, both physically and financially.
Best Wishes everyone, be π, be π, may the βοΈ shine brightly on you always.
You sound like you're having a busy day today, and I hope you are enjoying your afternoon walk. Your veggie hotpot for tonight's meal sounds delicious. I am considering having cheese and tuna on toast, as I don't really fancy much else - sometimes you just 'fancy' a particular taste don't you...!
Really well done for having maintained your weight, despite the Christmas festivities. I know it is a difficult time of year - especially in view of your recent bereavement. I really hope you are doing ok, and managing to cope.
Wishing you a good week ahead, and hope your shifts at work go well.
Hope that 2016 will be a good year ahead. Looking forward to hearing more of your recipes and tips in the New Year!
Thankyou lowcal. Sometimes good plain food can be much more appealing than any fancy food. 'Things' on toast are often the best, my personal favourite is mushrooms on toast. I am doing ok, a few ups n downs with the emotions, but ok. π
Thankyou moreless, the best of life to you too π
Glad to hear you're in a good place Shellie. Sounds like you're going to be being creative with your leftovers for a while, lots more veg hotpots, curries, bubble and squeak on the horizon I bet. I'm also hoping to be in better control of finances as well as health this year. Hope you achieve all you set out to achieve and more. Wishing you an excellent 2016

I have so many things going on this year and my own daughters wedding near the end of 2017, so a major savings drive is in order, lol. I am also banking on needing a complete new wardrobe of clothes over the next 12 months!! Wishing you an amazing 2016 Ruth, good health, happiness and financial security xx

Yep don't underestimate the clothes shopping. I only dropped 2/3 sizes but very little still fits in any way or form, some of my socks are even too loose now! Slowly replacing it all. Some money to be earned on ebay along the way though
