My first week and I'm having problems keeping my calories down. I haven't managed it yet. Any tips

would be great.

Hi Sandra164, it may be worth having a look at your current calorie allocation and reviewing whether you're having enough calories at the right time.

When I started, I used to get hungry at around 3 pm. I reviewed my daily menus and added some calories for lunch and for a mid afternoon snack, but removed those calories from my evening meal. Since you will probably be asleep for 8 hours after your evening meal, you are less likely to notice the missing calories.

If you find yourself getting faint or ill at all, then you must eat. I found that just a small handful of mixed nuts work quite well for me, but you must be careful not to overdo them.

Hi sandra :-) Tewson's idea about changing around when in the day you eat your calories is a good idea - I've also found that it's better if I eat a lighter dinner and eat a bit more during the day. I always have a kit kat later in the evening, so I can look forward to that after dinner.

I would also suggest making a really good plan of what you are going to have during the day, so you know what you can eat and when. For the first few weeks, I stuck to pretty much the same thing each day to get into the routine and I found that really helped.

Good luck :-)
