I can't trust myself with a taste, so have to cut out chocolate/sugary treats completely, which I know is not the same as others.
In the end, it all boils down to willpower and priorities. Which do you want more? The chocolate, or the fab figure?
Did you avoid the chocolate? - Try positioning yourself so it's not in your line of sight. Make yourself cups of tea even if you don't want them so you have something to keep your tastebuds busy with. Delay tactics - promise yourself something very small later to slightly squash the craving - a mini chocolate bar (150cals or less), an options hot chocolate, an exotic fruit salad, a weight-watchers lemon cake slice - anything. Delay tactics do definitely work. Good luck and hope you weren't defeated by the temptation
I have removed my demons totally from my diet until I feel in control. I have not had one glass of cava for 9 weeks. We all have different demons.some people can have small amounts. I know I cant.
OK, so sending a virtual kick up ass!! I avoided sweet stuff for the first two weeks and had to give in however I have surprised myself this week by allowing small treats for example my partner had profiteroles and I had just one, ate small bites and slowly. My weight has not changed but my attitude has I am so proud of my willpower, someone bought me chocolates today and I had just one, I will treat myself to another tomorrow. Showing myself I can control my sweet intake means if I did it once I can do it again tomorrow and the next day, well that's what I am telling myself. Good luck x
Delay tactics. Always. I also now have an inner conversation with myself before I eat something or buy something I know I probably should avoid. I look a bit crazy in the supermarket when I'm staring at a shelf for five minutes and slightly muttering to myself but 95% of the time I talk myself out of it. And that 5% of the time I do cave, I really enjoy the treat and move on. No regrets.
Also don't, let yourself become really hungry. When I'm super hungry that's when I really can't resist a treat.
which has more calories~ 2 choc digestives or a penguin bar? look up the answer on the nhs cal counter for a surprise. which would be the more satisfying, two biscuits or one penguin as an occasional treat.? do your work colleagues know you are watching your weight, if not, tell them then take in alternate sugar refills~bananas, dates, satsumas, pears; or Tesco own brand (cheap) plain chocolate @ 100 cal/ 4, yes that's 4, not 1 or 2 squares, but 4 squares. that way you get some taste in your sugar boost.
