Just joined this forum today. Feeling pretty strange about weight loss at the moment for example, not motivated so does that mean losing weight isn't that important to me? But it must be because it's the only thing in my life I can't seem to succeed at. So I thought some support might help and also I don't really have anyone to discuss the weight issues with well no one who has similar issues anyway.. Anyone got any tips on how to get motivated? Much appreciated 😀

Well you have definitely come to the right place you will get loads of support from here! Weight loss is a lifestyle change not just a diet. it's a journey! Your first positive step was coming on here! Well done! You say you are not motivated to lose weight you obviously see the benefits to losing weight other wise you wouldn't be on here! You might want to check out the NHS website calorie counting. Or you could use other forms of losing weight but still use this site for your support I go to Slimming World myself I have loads of support there too. U need think what would suit you best. All the best

We're on the same boat. What I found to motivate me though is the feeling I get after I exercise. I do ashtanga yoga whenever I can, and I could say the only pose I mastered is the savasana or the corpse pose. Lol. Kidding aside, after I exercise, I feel lighter and stronger. Although sometimes I lose that motivation because of work and other responsibilities, but I just keep telling myself that I need to do it to become healthier. We can do this! All the best to you!

That's really good advice - I think I just need to get started and get into some kind of routine. I'd love to do yoga as I'm into meditation and relaxation etc... Thanks for replying xx

You can do this, we are all here to help and support eachother. It's so hard to get motivated, I have felt the same many times in my life. I often feel like I'm always watching what I eat and it can get me down. I don't know if that's the same for you? Last week, when I was craving sweets I was eating a handful of fruit (mainly strawberries or blueberries) and putting a little squirty cream on the top. It made me feel as though I was getting a treat, but without as much fat or as many calories. Stick in there. You can do it :-) x

Absolutely! I just get sick of not being able to just eat what I want. The thing is I genuinely do want to exercise but there seems to be something holding me back from being consistent. The problem is I know what to do but I just never seem to stick to it. I even wake up with the intention of eating healthy - then after lunch I'll be eating a biscuit and think oops! I'm supposed to be eating healthy lol!! Thanks for replying I really appreciate it 😀

No problem, message me any time for support or a chat. Maybe try and stop buying biscuits crisps etc so you don't have them in the house, or swap for things like Alpen bars. It's easier said than done though if you have children (or a husband/boyfriend/partner that are not watching their weight haha) stay strong xxx

Haha you've hit the nail on the head I have a boyfriend who is thin and can eat whatever he wants! So annoying!! Xx

Hello sj90, you are more motivated than you realise hunny. Firstly, you are thinking about your excess weight and 'weighing' up your support network, hence joining this forum. Secondly, you are asking for motivation tips which shows you HAVE the motivation to change your lifestyle - health/ food - it just needs a kickstart. Welcome to that boost, this forum will help support you to a healthier you; full of likeminded folk with the same desire.

You don't say how much you would like to lose, whatever the figure, slow and steady will win you the race. Good luck on your first steps to a slimmer and healthier you. 😊

Sj90, I felt the same at the start I was never above 16 1/2st, but it just kept getting worse and I told myself over and over I need to do something about it but I just couldn't get motivated to do anything, anyway one day I bent down to put my shoes on and by the time I had don't it I was out of breath( putting a pair of shoes on) after that I decided to weight myself and I couldn't beleive that I was 18+ st, that gave me the motivation I needed to get excercising and I did, I go to the gym a few days a week and beleive me you will feel better once you get there and do it.. don't put it off like I did..
