Day 1 week1: Here we go again! Have just... - Weight Loss Support
Day 1 week1
Like you said, there's always hope! I started the beginning of this year with a bmi of obese, I couldn't believe it, I'd conned myself I wasn't that big! I'm now bmi overweight with another 2 stone to loose but the scales haven't moved for 6 weeks, very frustrating. But if I hadn't started I would still be obese or more likely morbidly obese by now so just start making small changes, it will make a difference!! If you want an example I used to drink lots of fizzy drinks and bread was my go to snack, I stopped these and you guessed it the pounds started to drop. I think sometimes we fool ourselves about what we eat, I do believe in everything in moderation but I would eat 6 packets of crisps one after another and tell myself that classed as lunch!!!! Lots of people do the 12 week plan on here with lots of success, have a look, good luck
Exactly right, ANY change for the better is a good thing, every little helps and stops the situation getting worse. Hey, you say the scales haven't moved for 6 weeks - even that is a good thing, they haven't gone up, which is great! I'm sure they will be on the move again soon...
Thanks WeightWarrior, we just need to remember it's a lifestyle change don't we? And hope the scales realise we're treating our bodies better!😀
Yes indeed...since I started the change for the better, my scales have not always been kind to me, but I am not quitting, have to keep looking towards the long term goal. Things are going very slowly for me, but what I'm eating, I know is sustainable for me - I know I could eat this healthier way for life and not be feeling "starving hungry" every day of my life. I'm not unrealistic, I still eat a roast dinner now and then, I still eat a pasty for dinner now and then, maybe once every couple of weeks. I am just sensible about the rest of the food I eat that day. That keeps me going, because I know I'm not going to NEVER eat certain foods for the rest of my life. And I'm less likely to fail if I am realistic!
Absolutely😀 That's how I see it. What is the point if you can't have what you fancy( in moderation) every so often , this has to be sustainable 😀
You're absolutely right it's not about dieting. We all know they don't work long term don't we. Most people just put some or all the weight back over time. What we need to do is change our eating habits once and for all. Swopping fatty sugary foods for healthier options. Portion control is a big one for me. Eating the same as my husband when he is 7" taller and a bloke. I love the 12 week plan and the c25k. Great ways to make changes in lifestyle. Oh yes and I love the Monday weigh in even though this week I won't have lost and probably gained a bit after my holiday in Cornwall but it will refocus me and motivate me to get back on plan. Great forum.
Hi. Lots of us are on long journeys too. We can help each other on the way.
