Found measuring weighing etc a bit of a chore by end of day but my biggest shock was the calories in the little things I put on top of salad - salad dressing salad crutons crispy bacon bits crispy onion bits nuts etc

First day
It's amazing how many calories a salad can have! The MacDonald salads have more calories than a big Mac! I started making my own bread because the ones you find in the shops have 3 tsp of sugar in! Vs none for the homemade loaf (apparently it acts as a preservative and helps toast look brown) it's amazing how the little things add up
Measuring can be a chore to begin with. I've created an Excel spreadsheet and include everything as I go, so when I repeat a meal I the info is all to hand instead of looking up on line.
Hello Irmagee,
The first week or so really is a steep learning curve, but once you get into the routine of taking note of everything you eat it will become 2nd nature.
When I began the NHS 12 week plan (back in March!) I recorded everything I ate and the calorific value, that way when I planned my daily menu in the following weeks it was much easier to keep within my calorie allowance.
Good luck and stick with it...you know you're worth it!
I know! Such a shock...the small things make a big difference. Welcome and have a good week this week!
