Hi Mayrachel!

Welcome to the forum! Everyone I have met here has been really helpful and understanding.

Have you thought about how you plan to lose your 30lbs? Most people here are following the nhs 12 week plan, so it might be worth a look.

My suggestions are :

1 -Baby steps! If you try to change all of your bad eating habits in one go, you make it harder to stick to!

2 - Nothing is off limits! If you really really really want some chocolate, have it.....but only a small one!

3 - Avoid weighing in too often! Your weight can fluctuate, so it's best to weigh yourself at the same time of day once a week!

4 - invest in a set of digital kitchen scales and some measuring spoons!

Good luck!

One amazing thing about this forum is we're all so honest, open, kind and write from the heart...in 'real life' we're less likely to do this...great here...love it!

You are so right!

Like most people here, I have been to my fair share of slimming clubs, where the group sit around together for an hour. I would never stay! And if I did force myself to stop there, I would never have been so brave as to announce my weight (I started at 19st 7lbs!!) to the whole group!!!!!

This forum is much more open. I didn't feel like I was being judged. I had read some posts and told before I jumped in and was fairly certain that if I got a response, it would be kind!

I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe it's the anonymity - the knowledge that even if I walked past you in the street, you wouldn't know who I was!

It didn't matter though. It's working for me and its working for others!
