Fab, swimming is my all time favourite exercise. I always feel light as feather when I'm in the pool.

Have a lovely refreshed day.

Hi,

Give Aquafit a try, been this morning and really love it, legs a bit tired but feeling ok.

😇

That sounds so good. I like exercising at the start of the day too. Surprisingly energising, even if you don't feel like it when you first wake up. Have a great day :)

Swimming is a great way to lose weight and increase your fitness without putting too much pressure on your joints (I have a bad knee). I agree with Flossie Aquafit is great - I have found since doing that I have lost inches off my hips and legs which is great :) Well done you, enjoy the rest of your day feeling healthy and happy :)

well done i'm glad you have found something that can change someone way of thinking take care bigalan

I'd love to swim, but every time I think it would be possible, I know it'll lower my blood sugar too low and I would need something to eat or drink right away. How can I fix this without having to eat or drink beforehand? Or after?

You should eat about an hour before and have something quite soon after. I would probably have a banana before and a glass of milk after.

Okay to the milk, but no to the banana since I can't eat them due to my blood pressure meds..

I had a blood sugar crash in an Aquafit class a couple of years ago and had to leave shaky and embarrassed and haven't been back since! I've heard though that there's one near me on a Sunday afternoon where it's graded and you can pace yourself rather than being pushed to the limit so I'm going to give that a try next week (im working tomorrow) planning to eat a light meal about 2-3 hours before and have my banana at the ready for afterwards! Activity2004, I know a lot of people need carbs for exercise but I've found with my walking that my energy levels are more stable if my meal before is light but contains protein and fat but low carb. Different things work for different people so it's worth experimenting to see what works for you. 😀

Thank you for that! I thought I was the only one who was crashing every time I got out of a pool. I'll see what can be done using your advice.
