I suffer from asthma, sleep apnea and snoring. I was advised to lose weight and managed to lose 10kg, now I want to lose another. Did anyone else find it hard after a certain point to lose weight? If so please could you share with me what you did to lose extra weight, once it gets to a point where you cant.
Thanks,
Tom x

Firstly, well done on losing 10kg, that's incredible
I also plateaued and couldn't really pinpoint where I was going wrong. I lost 14.2kg last year (Jan 2014 - July 2014) and then for the last 6 months of the year and the first 6 months or so of this year, despite eating healthily and logging my food in an app (My Fitness Pal), I wasn't able to shift any more. The positive, of course, is that I also didn't put any weight ON, which is an achievement in itself!!
So 2 weeks ago I decided to get back into running. (I completed the Couch to 5k programme last year and ran Race for Life in May 2014. This was really then my last proper run. I felt as though I'd achieved my objective and then got a little lazy! The result being that my weight plateaued.) So I completed a 5k run on Sunday in a reasonable time and in the last 2 weeks I've managed to shift a little bit more weight.
So for me the best way to shift those lbs/kgs is to combine healthy eating with regular exercise (easier said than done!)
So if you feel you're stuck at -10kg, try to increase your exercise/week. If running is hard due to asthma, try walking more. You may be surprised at the results
Thats awesome! Thank you so much for your input, it will really help with motivation. Well done and thank you,I was thinking of keeping a little diary here? To update my weight etc.. would that be OK?
Even a private diary, if you promise yourself to be honest and log every single thing that passes your lips and every minute of exercise will be effective!
I found that until I started writing stuff down, I didn't realise I was eating far more than I should be :/ oooops!
I'm relatively new on here, just starting week 2. You have done very well so far to lose 10KG but if you want to do a regular post to update your weight you should look out for a post by 'Lowcal'. Every Monday there is a new thread with regulars posting their weekly weight. As I said I'm new but it seems to have been going for sometime. I find the regular 'weigh in' a real motivation to stay on track. Good luck.
I had this issue also but it lasted for me 1 week. What I did was increased my workout difficulty level and then tried to lower caloric intake for 1 - 2 days. After that everything went back to normal. And also found out that coffee will increase the fat burn if you drink it on an empty stomach. You can try if you want. Not sure if this is good or bad for the health, but to be honest I feel great!! And also drink as much water as possible! Also helps to flush out all the bad stuff from the body!
You see Tom the ballpark figure would be 0.5 liters of water per 30 kg of bodymass daily. At first I found it difficult to drink that much, but with time there will be no problem. And also proper sleep is main factor in losing weight!!!!
Well done on that 10kg loss! I started sometime in April/May, lost 10kg by mainly watching my meal intake. I am really lazy with work outs. Working on that, just did one of the gym free ones on the nhs website, the standing abs. So I plateaued after that 10kg and for one month plus the weight wouldn't move. So last week I tried the 5:2 diet or my version of it and when I weighed on saturday, I had lost a kg. So that was what worked for me, still on it.
Very well done on losing those 10 kg that is brilliant.
I find that increasing the intensity of my cardio workouts helps when the scale stops moving or just try something new. Like I have never been a rower before the last 3 weeks and when I first began rowing I struggled to get to 2 mins without being exhausted then made it to 5 mins but was still shattered. I decided to focus on the meters instead of the time itself and this really motivated me to complete 2000 m. I went onto do 3000 m and completed the full 5000 m in 27 minutes and it was me pushing myself to do something different and push myself to break down my wall that got me to shift the weight. So my advise to you would be to find something that you can do now but push yourself above and beyond your own inspections and break down your wall and watch those calories. Hope this helps
I also suffered from sleep apnea but 7 stones lighter I was told yesterday that I no longer need the CPAP machine. I too got to a point about 5 1/2 stone in where started not losing and weight mainly down to not eating enough. Signed up to The Body Coach programme ( Joe Wicks) google it and check it out. Got to go to work no so cannot explain further. Message me if you would like any more info.
