Slowed down now.

I was at the supermarket yesterday and the woman on the till was saying she wanted to lose 2 stone at least. She seemed so very miserable and I felt so sorry for her as I knew just how she felt. That's just what I was like in March. I've now had a few weeks of staying the same weight but lost 2lbs last week and have kept it off this week. Just 1lb to go and I will have lost 20lbs. Another 10lbs to lose till my goal weight then. I wish I could have told the lady about the forum but she was too busy. Would like go in again to tell her but she might think I'm weird. :0

If you see her again and she seems to remember the conversation you could mention it then? Otherwise, if shes talking about it that openly, she must have someone in her circle of friends who might direct her to the nhs weight loss plan, or something similar with peer support. I think we all went through a miserable phase like this before acting on it and losing the weight. She'll be fine :)

Good luck losing your remaining lbs. 2/3rds the way through now! I also have 11lbs to lose but am half way through, so you see in my eyes your journey will be shorter, grass is always greener eh?

11lbs sounds a lot but it isn't really. We will be at our goal before Christmas and might even lose a few more lbs to be ready for it. Really wanted sweets tonight but it's raining and I don't want to get the car wet so have had an apple. :)

Its about patience and lots of willpower moments all added up isn't it, but I guess the rain helps too!

I remember where she was coming from. In March my weight was on my mind all the time: every time I had to dress to try to disguise my big belly; every time I had to pull on my overtight jeans that didn't cover my muffin top. I am now 21 lb lighter and taking a bit of time out before I get cracking on the final 7lbs. It's wonderful not to have my bulk on my mind every day and just be able to get on with other things, knowing that I look okay.

Have a word with her and you'll be doing her a favour. xx

Well done to you Ubiquitous! It was March when I started as well. I found floaty scarves a great help hiding my belly last year. Have loads so might take some to the charity shop. x

Hi eeek1110, it's always good to share your experience with others and what has worked for you. It's a shame she was so busy now she may never know.

Well done on your weight loss so far and with only 10 lbs to go you have almost made it and that's just brilliant :-)

Have a lovely week x

Thank you Trafford. I've still got a roll of fat over my jeans but at least it's just one now. Bit of a big one though! :)

I would seek her out and tell her 😊

I don't recall how I stumbled across this forum but by golly I am glad I did

To know there is someone not so very far away with just the same feelings, lumps and bumps (emotionally and physically) is incredibly empowering

xx

I found the site when I felt desperate K1972 so I will tell the lady if I see her again. She might have just been having a bad day though. I've told my husband's nurse about the forum and will be seeing her again in a couple of weeks. It would be lovely if she's lost some weight as she was uncomfortable about her extra lbs too. x
