Party treats and real life......

No matter what you've had today, start again now!! Not tomorrow morning.

Today we had a party. I had no alcohol and no potatoes but did have chicken, a few crisps, bread and trifle (well I made it so I knew how good it was going to be). it was lovely and it would be easy to think "I've blown it so I'll re start tomorrow". You can do that, or you could restart now. Let's do it now ✅

I've had exactly the same thing today. It was my mum's 69th birthday so we had a big barbecue - not even being put off by the rain at lunchtime. I made the birthday cake; lemon sponge, blackcurrent jam, mascarpone and lemon curd icing, decorated with strawberrues, raspberries and blueberries. I hadn't planned to have any but then everyone was raving about it and asking for more and even my perfectionist sister was saying it is absolutely lovely, so I wavered and ate a small slice- which with the aid of a calculator I worked out was nearly 400 calories worth of cake, which well and truly smashed my calorie allowance for the day.

However never mind in the past I would have eaten the barbecue the quiche, the salads, the cheese straws, the crisps and a large slice of cake! tomorrow I will be back on the healthy eating.

Sounds like you are doing well to me, you counted the cake calories and added them to your calcs. You didn't throw the towel in for the rest of the day, so I think no harm done. You just enjoyed a piece of cake, that's all 😀

well done you, previously I'f have thought along the lines of 'blow it' and get stuck in, but it's a victorious feeling resisting. And you've done the right thing adding the calories for the cake, you can pull those cals back in over the week, perhaps trimming off a few each day. xx

I totally agree, learning to have things in moderation has been an important step in this journey

Good thinking hun. Very unusually for me I counted everything this weekend and that limited me in itself and I'm so pleased this morning as lost 4lbs since last Tuesday without doing any phys. My OH has something of a hangover this morning, but as I stopped at the 2 mocha beers that were within my calorie allowance I'm full of beans today, as much as you can be with a 5am start lol.

Chatting to the lovely peeps here has got me off to a brilliant start, and I feel more in control than usual xx

thank you, feeling very positive right now. OH says you can't loose weight without exercising, but just proven you can lol. Off to Zumba at lunchtime, should be interesting with my lack of coordination.

How's everyone else doing?

4lb is fantastic & I agree exercise can help but it all comes down to what we put into that 'relatively' (lol) small hole in the front of our faces.

I've just polished off my porridge. I used to weigh in on Mondays but since joining this prog I've switched to Friday's. So I have the next 5 days to recover the few lapses from yesterday.

I have several counting pebbles in my 'I've resisted snacks' jar and I'm away for the morning walk. Nice and sunny here. Good luck to all and remember if your loss is not as great as you expected, today's another day and there are people here to offer support and encouragement.

Now must shower and get to work!
