Joining you
Hi Mariamramz,
Great to hear you'll be joining in with the Monday weigh-in, that is really great. You are very welcome, and I hope you'll enjoy your week. I would recommend having a good read through the 12 week structured plan on the NHS website pages.
Using Myfitnesspal is a useful app that I have found really good and it's free to use. It is a good way to log your food and drink intake and any exercise you do - and it's relatively easy to use.
I find that pre-planning my meals helps - i.e. putting them onto the Myfitnesspal and making sure I have the correct foods in for the meals I want to prepare.
I'd definitely recommend using whole foods rather than processed foods. They are much healthier and you know what you're eating that way - less additives and preservatives etc. Eating porridge for breakfast with some nuts and seeds and a few fresh blueberries is my ideal breakfast, I make it with soya milk usually. It's tasty and lasts me till lunchtime.
For my dinner this evening I had a tasty homemade Thai Chicken curry with lots of vegetables in the curry - very easy to make - just cooked all the vegetables, chicken in a sauce made from coconut milk (I chose the low-fat version) and some curry powder for the spice. I know some people use the green curry paste, but I hadn't bought any, and just had some curry powder available, and it was tasty. It's the first time I've made Thai Chicken Curry - so it was a bit of an experiment.
The Banana Bran fruit cake on the NHS website pages is very tasty and easy to make. Good for a snack.
I tend to only have desserts on weekends, but I do like to have some Greek yoghurt with some berries during the week if I fancy a 'mid week dessert' - or a snack. It's really tasty and filling, and not many calories.
I tend to do lots of walking and also some cardio conditioning exercises. I think it's important to find exercise that you personally enjoy, because then you'll be more likely to stick with it.
Wishing you luck with your weight loss journey, and look forward to seeing you in future weigh-ins, and within this forum generally.
Lowcal
Apologies for this very long reply - I didn't realise I'd written so much!
