Ok, I have joined a health club and have been swimming nearly every morning now for the past two weeks. Already my body feels great and more toned BUT I have only lost 2lbs :-( Is this normal ?

I think the important thing to note is that if you're doing this regularly you'll be developing and improving your muscles, so it might be the case you're building muscle but in the long run you'll see a weight loss as muscle burns fat.

Just keep at it and you'll eventually see the results! :)

And good job!

Thank you, I plan to although these 6.30am swims are testing ! I did wonder if muscle would build up. I feel more toned and my daughter came home at the weekend and said I look healthy, so that was a boost too.

Recent studies have shown that exercise doesn't aid weight loss; you need to focus on your diet to do that.

Good luck

Look at the health benefits of the swimming, as you say you are already feeling better so keep it up. The weight loss will follow, just concentrate on what you are eating. Enjoy the positives and you will get to your goal

Exercise or physical activity does aid weight loss but you can't out run, swim, jog, cycle or walk a bad diet.

Yes, this is totally normally. As your are exercising regular you start to get muscles. And muscles weigh more then fat, losing fat gaining muscles :D go you!!
