I am a woman of 66 and live on my own. I need to lose 3 stone and wondered if there is someone out there in Peebles in a similar position as me. I need motivation and although I don't eat bought snacks I frequently make a sandwich in the evenings. I was intrigued about what being sedentary does to you.
Never been to a gym but would if I had someone to go with.
Sorry I live at the other end of the country, by don't lose heart if you don't get a response from your local area. The members of this website will give you excellent support and advice. Like you I live alone and it can be hard to avoid snacking in the evening. I embroider, have a bath, make a cup of tea (using a teapot),paint my nails (you cant eat with wet nails!) Or check this website and respond to some posts. My friends have been very encouraging and supportive and I'm sure yours will be too. You could always join a slimming club, Im sure there are some in Peebles and you might find someone there to go to a gym with. If not you could try one of the NHS exercise programmes. I've downloaded the couch to5k podcasts and am actually enjoyingfollowing the routine. Good luck.
