Welcome to the group, a really nice group of supportive helpful people on here. My best advice would be to start by downloading the nhs 12 week plan, its a great starting place that can fit around any lifestyle. Break your weight loss into smaller amounts to aim for and take it one day at a time, there are no quick fixes but the effort is very worthwhile, all the best

Thanks so much for the lovely welcome fibron. I've downloaded week one. Should I wait till Monday to start?

Its upto you when you start. I started mine on a sunday as i never work sundays so could stick to the same time and day weigh in each week. Keep us updated on your progress

Joining us is a great first step. Everyone is very supportive on here and full of good advice. I agree that a good place to start is the NHS 12 week plan. It is helping to re-educate me and has made me far more aware of correct portion size.

Good luck

Well every journey starts with the first step and you have taken your first step by joining this fab group of people who will offer you all the support and motivation you'll need. We all have excess weight in common so we understand each others highs and lows and there's always somebody who will be able to answer any questions or help with a problem. It's never easy to lose weight but the NHS 12 week plan makes it enjoyable and with a bit of determination and self discipline it wont be long before you are well and truly in the healthy lifestyle habit. I find it useful to record the calorific value of everything I eat so I don't exceed my daily allowance, I also find it helpful to log onto this forum at least once a day to read the posts of some of the truly inspirational people who are part of this group. I wish you all the best and look forward to reading how well you are doing. Good Luck.
