Act like a 3 year old!

I've been battling with weight for my whole life. Chubby as a child, overweight as a teenager and struggling to maintain as a yo- yo adult. Then, as I observed my three year old yesterday the penny dropped! Everyone has commented on her change in appearance and yes, growth spurts aside, she's thinned out. Why?? It's so simple! 3 balanced meals a day, healthy snacks and the fact that she skips, jumps and dances everywhere her physical activity is through the roof! Moral of the story....eat healthily, do exercise! Why am I refusing to try it? Maybe now I've had my eyes opened its time to change! Just a thought!?!

Welcome, I hope you find what you need in this community. You'll find many motivational posts here! Start by dowloading an app on your phone to keep track of calories (Fat Secret, My Fitness Pal...), it's a great aid! Good luck!

Wahay.

Let's separate exercise and activity. Exercise seems to imply a chore you MUST get through, but why shouldn't it be fun? Any activity that makes you puff a bit and warm up will be burning calories. So wiggle through the housework and skip to school - ok maybe not to school :)

You obviously love your little girl and take care of her. It's time to do it for you too! :)

You obviously make sure your daughter eats well and is happy and healthy, isnt it a shame as adults we dont do this for ourselves. You can see it works and she can be your motivation, and what great motivation. Maybe try mimicking what you feed her in adult portions? an app like myfitnesspal is great for keeping track of calories, and the nhs 12 week plan is a great starting block for a lifestyle change to being healthy. Wish you all the best

My exercise is just to go for brisk walks like ceecee and I think I will start the weights too now. I know I'll be able keep those exercises up as I'm scared I'll get lazy AGAIN!
