I found MFP really helped me stay on track ... Are you logging everything you eat? I have been barcode scanning my meal ingredients in advance so I know what calories I've got spare and then choosing fruit/beg to snack on depending on what I've got left!
I'm now at my target and maintaining. But Ive had many times like yours in the past. Last April I started logging everything , good days, bad days and very bad days ( i use myfitnesspal ) . The best days are when I plan my naughty snacks in advance, cuz if I log them in advance I am more likely to stick to it. It took me 8 months to lose my spare 2st but I did not deny myself any particular food, just had less of it.. eg 2 wines not 4, shared a bag of crisps instead of one each, and I eat eggs for breakfast not cereal. I even have cream in my coffee, its so lovely I dont miss a biscuit. At the end of the day, if you keep to your maximum 13-1400 net calories or whatever is right for your age/size, you will lose the weight. Then gradually increase them to find your maintenance level. ( Sadly at 62 my max is still only 1650 but its still maintainable with a bit of exercise). Good luck you can do this!!
P.S. By the way, I too like the vino and some days in my eating diary you would see : Sauvignon Blanc 75cl bottle !!! But, even that is not as bad as you think. If you add everything up each day and average it over a week, those bad days arent so bad really!
