Hi I am new to this but I was hoping someone would point me in the right direction. I need to lose weight but due to a medical condition there is a lot of things I can't eat or drink.

Hi Tracy
Which foods and drink do you have to avoid?
I can not eat mushrooms, onions, leeks, cheese, tomatoes, all fruit whether it be fresh, tinned, frozen or as a juice, anything spicy, chocolate and alcohol.
Perhaps have a look at the NHS 12 week plan? There are still a lot of vegetables you can eat, along with most protein.
I have found that I need to make sure I don't eat foods with sugar in, like low fat yoghurts and breakfast cereals, or too many starchy foods, if I want to lose weight.
I also have to avoid certain foods, and have found it a better idea to make my own meals from scratch, whenever possible.
Some people find it helpful to count calories, others go by portion size. Read the information on the NHS site to help you decide.
Good luck, I hope your medical condition does not get in the way of your life too much.
I use calorie counting to lose weight, gives me full control over what i eat, i just stay within the limits i set myself. Having limited food you can eat this might help as you can base it around the foods you can eat. Getting active is usually a key point to losing weight too, does your medical condition limit the exercise you can do?
It can happen without the exercise but slowly. I was a nurse and saw people in hospital loose weight . Eat the salads. Get full up. Also don't buy treats. If you have to have them it cant happen.
