Desperate : Hi, is there any of u who... - Weight Loss Support
Desperate
I don't have as much as you to loose, but losing weight is still difficult.
I have decided that the thing to do is not to despair or feel panicky. That may just distract me. In fact, I am trying to approach the whole weight loss thing clinically, objectively, and with as little emotion as possible. I am looking at is as simply a matter of numbers: i.e. I just have to eat litttle enough for long enough and then, by the laws of nature, weight loss is inevitable.
So, try and defy those feelings of low self confidence, lift your head up high, and feel confident in the knowledge that you are embarking on your personal journey of victory ... and eat less, but sensible.
It will be a long and ongoing process, involving some experimentation, but the rewards will be pure gold.
What about getting yourself some nail varnish and every time you see a difference (-) on the scales you paint a finger in a nice colour, or a toe... you will see how it's adding up with the varnish and the weight is going respectfully down... it takes time but you will do it!
Good luck, I am sure you will do it.
You can do it...don't try to loose it too fast...and don't try skipping meals, regular meals at regular times, I started running with the couch to 5k then joined a beginners running club...I have in Aug just ran with them for a year now am cycling too, yet when I began I couldn't run for 2 minutes so you can do it...be stubborn, good luck xx
Try and get some support. It possible to lose but it takes time. It took me 4 years to get to my goal weight. I still struggle, but with a good support system you can do in. Also it will go up and down at times so don't give up. We are all here for you
I lost around about 18 stone and have kept off for a couple of years now, it can be done, you just need to find your way. Set yourself reasonable long term goals because the changes you make need to be for the rest of your life. It's unrealistic to not expect to make mistakes along the way, it will be a very long journey and learning curve, so be flexible and adapt where needed, don't be afraid to mix things up and try new things. For example I don't now eat the same foods as I started out eating on my journey. Try not to focus on just weight loss, try eating for improved health. Remember Obesity is a symptom of an underlying issue (metabolic disease) not the root cause of it.
Try to exercise but put into a separate box, exercise for health not weight loss. In my opinion exercise is not critical for weight loss and it just puts extra pressure on people who are already trying to make huge adjustments in their lives. If you are having to exercise to lose weight or maintain then your diet is wrong, fact. You'll naturally become more active hopefully as you lose weight.
I always think that if you want something badly enough then you can go out and get it.
I whole heartedly agree with OlsBean. Set yourself realistic goals. Mine was to go from 18st 5lbs down to the 17's. Then to 17st 11lbs (Half a stone) and then down to 17st 5lbs (the stone). Don't try to run before you can walk and make everything achievable with small rewards that will make you feel good about yourself.
When your clothes start to feel comfortable and then too big, it's an amazing feeling and when you realise that you don't have to shop in outsize stores it just makes you want to shout out loud and wear a smile that is too big for your face!
I have lost almost five stone now since June and have around another three to go, so it is achievable but only you can make it happen. Go for it, keep posting and look to us all here for support. Good luck, merry Christmas and a wonderful new year to come.
Hey i have 8-9 stone to lose so know how daunting it can be, but do not give up on yourself, you will get there its a long journey but it is all about changing your habits and making a healthier life for yourself, if you are anything like me i have always put myself last against everyone else, this is something i am doing for me and no one else. I have low self confidence to so stick to working out at home, i started by simply doing 20-30mins of steps up on my wii fit board while watching tv.
Good luck with starting the plan i have found it very helpful. I found planning meals and snacks and workouts out in advance really helped me to stick to the plan. Work out what works for you, weigh yourself on the first day and try to stick to the same day each week to track your progress. Believe me when i say it is worth it, just take things one day at a time. You can do this
