just found this on the internet while searching another possible route to shift the lard. Now printing out the charts etc. Is this diet good then as everything else ive tried from slimming world to weight watchers and everything inbetween worked for a little while then i started gaining again. best answer ive had to myself so far is chop off a body part haha.

Best way to think of it is a lifestyle change because if you only follow it til you lose the weight, you will more than likely put it back on. A lifestyle change takes time as you need to reprogramme your way of thinking and your taste buds. It is possible to do, ive been doing this for 4 weeks and lost 9lbs in first 3 weeks, and ive yo-yo'd with my weight for 10 years.
Be patient and you will get there, find what works for you, whether its diaries, apps or using the charts from the ngs website
The 5:2 diet is the only one that has ever worked long-term for me. Every other diet I tried, once I stopped calorie counting I put it all back on again.
With 5:2, once you've lost the weight you want to you just 'fast' (up to 500 calories) one day a week and the weight stays off. I now just weigh myself once a week and then I know if I need to fast one day or two the following week.
It's free to do and I actually saved a lot of money as I now don't eat as much as I used to!
