Just change one little thing. See the success of that and then try another little thing and add to it. It'll all add up.

I don't see it as a challenge, I see it as a lifestyle change, as chay says, one step at a time. Make a small change, get used to it then make another, they will add up. After several attempts at dieting where I went all out and was very strict with myself I got bored, gave up and ended up bingeing. Now, this is sustainable, I've made quite a few small changes and the weight is coming off and staying off, I have just had a plateau but the weight didn't go up at all.

Thank you Chay and katedaniels. Today is much better do far:) I have a sweet tooth and give into choc and desert everyday. A month ago, I did protein only diet and lost 10lb but could not maintain it. I'll give up deserts and see how I feel.

Many people talk about 'motivation', ask others to give it to them, even ask for a 'kick up the bum'. This will not work. You have to decide for yourself where you want to go and how you plan to get there.

If you identify 'choc and desserts' as a problem, ask yourself why? What do they do for you? Why do you feel you need them? Generations of human beings have lived quite well and has busy lives long before 'choc and desserts' were ever invented. How did they do it? How did we survive as kids in WWII when sweets were rationed to what now equalled a small bar of chocolate - a week! 4 ounces that was.

Sit and think about it, maybe with pencil and paper and think it through.

Here's a useful little link to the 5:2 Diet youtu.be/W9Aj6hRYg4A which is really effective and very easy to follow. It's based on a fantastic BBC Horizon programme which aired in August 2012 called "Eat, Fast and Live Longer" bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episo... and it honestly changed my life. I do recommend you watch it and be inspired! It is said to also reduce the risks of cancer, diabetes and dementia.

I lost three stone in six months up to April 2013 and have kept it off since then by just 'fasting' one day a week, but I know of people who have lost masses more. I'm going to do it for the rest of my life. I'm 64 and I've never been so slim or so fit and healthy! With any previous diet I lost the weight, stopped counting calories, and piled it all back on again and more.

If you have any further questions please do get in touch with me.
