After visiting an endocrinologist yesterday - was diagnosed with Graves Disease. I am on Carbimazole and beta blockers which have helped a little but wonder if I will ever feel better again. I cannot sleep, eye pressure and aching all over. I feel exhausted and unable to do any significant tasks. I have low mood and cannot be bothered. It is my 50th Birthday in February and I had so many plans to make it a special year for me but most of these plans are now on hold as I just don't have any energy.

New to this forum - diagnosed with Graves Disease yesterday.
Hello there, after reading your post I was very interested to find out what exactly graves disease is,it doesn't sound much fun,is it something that will get easier with time?,my mum had very bad health problems for over three years and it really wore her down but things did eventually get better and she has come through the other side after a long painful journey,I hope this will make you keep on trying as it will lift your mood if you persevere although it sounds a lot easier said than done, thinking of you anyway ,don't give up x
I hope it does improve. My next appointment with the endocrinologist is in 3 months. I am trying to be positive but it is very hard when you feel so run down. Yesterday I started to get sharp stabbing pains every 20 mins on the left side of my head just above my ear and this has continued today - I wonder if this is linked to Graves or the medication I am taking. Will visit GP if it is no better on Monday ?
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope the medication will help you feel better. The autoimmune disease, coeliac disease, is sometimes associated with Graves' disease. Have you been tested for coeliac or has anyone suggested that you try a gluten free diet?
Take care, I hope your energy returns soon.
