Hi, we are all in the same boat-goodness knows why I spoil things-have been known to blow it the day before weighing in! Just keep at it and imagine a stop sign if you feel like picking x good luck

Good idea , maybe stick a stop sign on the fridge door or cupboard door lol, I'm guessing evenings is hard for everyone , it's good to know I'm not alone

I save 100 cals for my treat in the evening if I have eaten healthily during the day, usually have Wotsits or French Fries from a multipack. I look forward to knowing I will really enjoy them!

I really struggle with this aswell, I try and keep a few calories for the eve, so i can have a treat, I also try and go for a walk to distract myself from thinking of food or eat fruit to try and fill up :)

Hi, I do exactly the same. As well as the calorie saving for an evening treat, you might want to look at week 4 'food cravings'. I'll be trying the tips on this page myself. Good luck.

I also save some calories or have already planned a snack in - it can be something small like a piece of chocolate (before it would have been a lot of chocolate, LOL) or a packet of yogurt coated raisins is a good substitute as it gives me a sweet fix.

Also, I tend to finish my meal with something sweet - meringue and half fat creme fraiche is a favourite, then I don't tend to want something sweet later.

Another thing is distraction - go and have a bath, read a book, watch a film etc.

Good luck in finding what will work for you.

One thing that has helped me is to have a big plate of healthy pickables on the table where my family picks the most (in front of the telly) - that way rather than munching on snacks or bread, everyone is crunching away on carrot sticks, sliced bell peppers and cucumbers, and slices of fruit.. I really enjoy pomello as well as it keeps my hands busy and is low in calories..

satisfied the evening snacking while not hurting the calorie count!

Hope this helps :)

Is it boredom? My experience is TV watching induces boredom eating. My plan is to study for my ECDL instead!

I set the rule that the kitchen is closed at 9pm. That means no snacks healthy or unhealthy. If it's a definitive rule it's much easier to stick to and I've also told my housemates to throw things at me if I break my word. So far so good, maybe it'll work for you too? Best wishes x

If you get the notion for snacking what about phoning a friend or family member and having a chat instead. I usually end up blethering for ages and by that time i forget that i wanted something to eat!

other things to keep you busy like cleaning a cupboard, sort the washing etc. I know its not exciting but it also gets you up and moving about too, which will burn a few calories.

do you have pets, play with them for 20 mins or so.

for me its all about distraction!
