What best exercise routine are better ... - Weight Loss Support
What best exercise routine are better for beginners trying to lose weight and are there any good (and free) videos for beginners?
Hi Sascha
The best way to start is to walk up the stairs rather than use the lift, walk when you don't need to drive, if you' feeling adventurous jog or ride a bike. The routine is important and the advice is to get 2 1\2 hours a week. I Think about what motivates you, what you enjoy doing. The other the way is to join a group or take up a sport, may be get a friend to join you for a bit of mutual support. Hope that was helpful. good luck
I've just found some excellent videos on YouTube by Leslie Sansone. I particularly like her power walking ones which are from one mile to five miles (in front of the tv!) and last from 15 to 75 minutes. She's a really nice American gal and doesn't shout at you like Jillian Michaels does!
I wear a Fitbit so I try to walk 10,000 steps a day which is about five miles so it's been great to still get exercise on these awful wet days we've had recently.
If you start by just walking one mile a day that will get your heart rate up and burn calories.
Good luck with your weight loss Sascha!
You don't need to exercise to lose weight, it's all about what you eat, if you eat carbohydrates and sugars and have excess fats, your insulin grabs hold of fats and stores them. Carbohydrates and sugars have little to no value to your body except for energy and only energy, fats (meat fish and oils) if you want to lose weight you need to create the conditions where your body needs to burn adipose tissue and that is to not eat sugars or carbs, your body then uses the hormone Glucogon to break down the triglycerides into fatty acid and glucose and this only happens when you don't consume enough sugar (all carbs are the same chemical formula as sugar) so exercise has little to do with it. It will make you feel better though and improve fitness levels and shape your body but not aid weight loss. The low or no carbs is only while losing weight after that it's a case of managing carbs, the hardest thing is to get over the medical advice that is so wrong, fat is good for you, sugar is poison and cholesterol is nothing to worry about, your body makes exactly what it needs, no more no less, unless you have the very rare cholesteremia where the body makes too much.
I learned all of this through the Zoe Harcombe website, the 25 diet myths busted is an excellent eye opener, her advice is available for free on her website and on YouTube, also very good and similar information is available from the diet doctor and everything I have said is proven in as much detail by sources on these websites. Read educate yourself and welcome to your new healthy life.
With regard to exercise, I would suggest the walking at a pace that makes you slightly out of breath for around half an your each day or every other day, the endorphins generated make you feel great.
