I would suggest the same time but for different reasons.

It is likely to give you the most consistent reading - some body composition scales need the contacts to be moist for an accurate reading.

Also some of the body composition scales are also more accurate if you have a 100 ml of water a few minutes before. So if it is all about pure weight loss don't worry about that but the body fat % will often reduce more than the 100 gm that the 100 ml of water will add!

Thanks, my scales are nothing special ( Why plural when there is only one scale, and why are they called a set of scales?) sorry I digress, but they are accurate, I do weigh in the morning but someone told me that the reason weight watches weigh in the pm is because this being the best time.

Just stick to the same time each weigh in that way is a more consistent reading. I'd also stick to the same scales and room as they can be calibrated differently scales to scales and the floor can have an effect on the reading albeit minimal. :0)

Thanks I can only have them in the kitchen, the rest of the house has carpeting.

Hi Janelily,

I would recommend, and do myself, the first thing in the morning weigh. It's probably the most likely to be the most consistent (oh, how's that for caveats?) as usually you'll have been asleep for several hours and therefore won't have eaten for that period..

(Unless you're one of those 'midnight munchers', of course!)

Good luck with your weight loss journey.

you should always try and put your scales on a hard surface never on carpet as this can effect the reading.

And avoid those thick 'cushioned' vinyls too!

I've recently moved house and had problems with those. Ended up putting the scales on a hard marble tile to get a sensible reading.
