In the past I have tried every diet known to man. Some have worked, others not. Overall I am about 1 1/2 stones down from my heaviest. But, am 19lbs up on my lightest- took my eye off the ball! Really need to consider this a fresh start.... But am finding it hard to get in the right frame of mind. Really glad to have found this site. Could offer the support I need. Have really supportive husband and family, but worry about disappointing them by starting another diet... And not following through!

Fresh Start! But motivation needed......
A warm welcome to you Andersn1974,
This is a very supportive site and there are lots of different blogs for various aspects of weight loss - hopefully you will find it the support you need to succeed.
It's good that your family are supportive, and that will help a lot.
Good luck with your goals and hope you have a good week.
Regards,
Lowcal
Thanks Lowcal. Nice to be warmly welcomed!
HI Andersn1974,
Welcome to the site.
Have you thought about not telling your family and just doing it? Just start eating more healthily and wait for them to notice the difference? Sometimes it is nice to have this wee harmless "secret". You would also be proving that you are sticking with it prior to the "truth" being revealed.
As you don't have much to lose, it would only be a couple of weeks before you were getting comments when people notice.
Whatever you choose to do, I wish you the best of luck.
Hi Andersn1974
Welcome! It's good you are addressing the weight before it creeps up anymore. The motivation will come from support on here and when you start to have more energy and feel fitter - that will probably happen quickly. The healthy eating will kick start all that you need to find motivation.
Make sure you log all calories if you are counting - MyfitnessPal is very good for this, a lot of UK users so a lot of calories already entered. I find it interesting to see if I can stick to 1400 a day - see it as a positive challange, and again that will help with motivation. myfitnesspal.com/
If you aren't exercising, gradually introduce walking and aim for 150 minutes a week - again, mark it off on MyfitnessPal to see the results.
The 12 week plan is full of tips, as well as how to motivate yourself.

Good luck and be proud and happy with whatever you achieve.
My life with dieting sounds around about the same as yours. At the mo i'm 15lbs up on my lightest. I'm on my second week of the NHS 12 week plan. I know it's hard to get in to the right frame of mind. I'm doing this plan because I think it's easier for me to do things in blocks. This is just a 12 week block of dieting and exercise, it's not forever. And don't put any pressure on yourself. Just see how it goes.
Imagine what you could look like if you stick with it for 12 weeks, though.....
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Notsobigmama, I have considered that... But my husband does all the cooking! Bispers, I have used my fitness pal before and was thinking it would be the best way to track... Rawhide.... We can do it!
Motivation eh?.....could try looking at some of the ghastly diseases that are on the NHS Choices web site, half of which seemed to be caused by being overweight in the first place! .
If all else fails my favourite motivational quote, which is very hard to argue with is................ *Eat less - move about more* .......if only it where that easy?
