I have put on quite a lot of weight on since i stopped smoking 4 months ago. Finding this site has made me want to knuckle down and watch my diet and exercise more. Yoga 20 mins this morning and 1 mile indoor walking this afternoon. I have some arthiritic problems in my wrists and a few clicks in my hips but the yoga is pretty good. I find the barbara currie dvd's good, you go at your pace and ability. I have only just begun my journey so i will keep you posted.

Well done for quitting smoking. I know how hard it is and to be tackling weight on top of that requires double the effort.
I quit smoking 3 years ago and I noticed pretty quickly that my quality of life improved, physically and even mentally (I wasn't so muzzy waking up in the mornings, much more clear minded first thing these days).
I haven't exercised properly in at least 2 years until I started the 12 week program and it's amazing all the creaks and clicks I hear while doing the warm-up stretches. It makes me realise how out of condition my poor old body has become but it's already got better now just 2 weeks in.
So goodluck, sounds like you have made a great start.
