Hi charlie00229 have a look on the NHS website and see their 12 week programme, which a lot of us on here are following.

There is nothing drastic about it, rather reducing your calories and exercising more, being sensible and providing one with long term solutions and helpful tips.

Each week they go through and focus on an aspect of diet and health so by the time the 12 weeks are up not only should you have lost some weight but also have a better understanding of yourself, food and exercise.

If you are at loss for meals they also have a helpful menu builder with simple recipes to follow.

Nothing is banned only how to make better choices. This approach may produce a slow weight loss while you work out what works for you but slower weight loss generally means it will stay off as you will have learnt good habits that you can actually stick to.

Personally I'm fed up with the diet brands out there. I have done them all and now have diet fatigue. This 12 week programme is a breath of fresh air for me and is a change for life.

We are each different but I would urge you to have a look at it - and its free!

Good luck

Hey charlie,

Here's the link for the 12 week plan:

nhs.uk/LiveWell/loseweight/...

It does set you up for a gradual 1-2lb per week loss, as well as getting you fitter and retraining your eating habits. (You have to otherwise it won't work)

Since starting the plan at the end of January I lost over 1 1/2 stone in the 12 weeks and went from a size 18 (pushing size 20) back to a 12/14.

I'm carrying on with the plan and healthy eating/exercise until I lose another 1 to 1 1/2 stone, and get back to what used to be my normal weight.

Hi Charlie00229,

don't go on a diet just eat healthy , watch your position size and don't eat late at night. if you go on a diet you will feel more need to eat from the food that put you in the first place on position that make you wants to lose weight . that my advice because I done all the diet under the sun and ended putting more weight , if I listen to people who advice me not to go on a diet I will be slim be now . I am following the NHS 12 weeks programs for a week and lost 400 g and feel better
