Hello everyone. Looking for a little advice please. This advice is for my 13year old daughter. She was perfectly fine until she got to 11 and half years old then everything changed. At first i put this down to hormone changes. But she has put on loads of weight (roughly 3stone in a year and half), has really bad spots, is tiered all the time, she also suffers from stomach cramps, nausea/sickness and headaches on a daily basis. She is under a pediatrician who is more concerned about the headaches, a head MRI was done which showed some inflammation but they can not tell me what this is. I did suggest that it could be PCOS but this was brushed off. Shes had spotting but no actual periods yet. She is also only eating minimal because she feels so ill. I feel so useless as I don't know what i can do for her to ease her pain. Has anyone else had this?
Many Thanks

she most likely does have it, I have the same issue she does to a certain point.
You need to push for the doctors to give her a scan, but they can’t do an internal scan on her as of age she’s not sexually active. So it might be hard to get an exact result.
They will suggest putting her on some sort of contraception, or give her a medication that valencies out her hormones do to hair growth and lowering the male hormones.
It’s sad but there’s not much that can be done.
I’ve asked myself for the surgery that can better our chances in the future, but you have to be married or trying/ miscarried multiple time - (according to my doctor)
Hello. Thank you for your reply. Is PCOS something that can be picked up on a external ultrasound? I do hope there is something they can give her as she is suffering on a daily basis.
Please push for some blood tests at least with your GP. And if they confirm it they can further do a pelvic ultrasound. If both confirm pcos then your daughter may benefit from having a pill. It might take a while to find the right pill as hormonal pills can take time to adjust to our systems. Hope she gets seen very soon.
