My GP wants to prescribe it for me to try. I'm late 30s and have both PCOS and endo. The main symptom she wants to prescribe it for is my mood swings as I have really severe PMS (but only 4 or 5 times a year as my periods are irregular). I can't take the combined pill due to past DVT. I would like to know has anyone actually had a positive experience of taking the 'mini pill'? I get the impression from a quick search that it may only make me worse and cause unpleasant side effects, so I'm right now I don't want to take it.
I would be interested to hear if it has helped anyone and why? Thank you in advance!

I’ve been on and off the mini pill for several years now. I’ve just recently come back off it again as it’s not made a positive change for me. My mental health has taken a dive, I still have horrible heavy irregular periods and my intimate relationship with my partner has suffered also. I found it worked for maybe a year, I felt better for a while but it has since changed and this is a trajectory that has happened a few times now having been on and off the pill a few times. This is just my experience, it’s worth giving a try but I really do think it’s the most basic “treatment” they give out for PCOS!
